dragonfly9078
So I actually already made a topic featuring my Pokemon cards, but I haven't updated it in quite some time, as for some reason every card image I posted turned into the image for my Zubat card. Since it hasn't been updated since sometime in October, I decided to just make a new topic entirely. If that is something I shouldn't have done, sorry. I will do my best to finish, but there are a LOT of Pokemon. Don't own any of the pictures, they all came from Google images or deviant art. mostly deviant art. If you are wondering why I started with such a random scattering of Pokemon from across the generations, it is because I am doing them in alphabetical order, then doing evolutions and such. So the first one I did was Abomasnow, then Snover, then Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam etc. I will be making cards based on moves, and I realize there's already a Fissure card for example, so those cards will be the same as their real life counterparts, but with a Pokemon related picture. Might do Trainers or Items, really not sure yet. [spoiler= Gen I][spoiler= Bulbasaur][spoiler= Bulbasaur Lore]Once per turn, you may place a counter on this card. Deathdwarf
The Starters should be balanced - Charmander has one star less than Squirtle and Bulbasaur? And there is no way to reason Squirtle not having less attack than Charmander, as he is pretty strong in offense. Defense stats are okay though. Still looking through all those cards. Please add Eevee and the evolutions, that would be a huge tactical improvement. Thinking about Celebi: Way to strong with both attributes, should be balanced to 1.5k/2k Celebi could be used with some unique spell cards. If you would add Mew, this could be same, but with some trap cards - as he likes to play tricks on people.
dragonfly9078
First, Thanks very much for your comment, I hope you like the cards :) I made the "C" cards a while ago, so I might be wrong, but I think my reasons were: Squirtle has decent attack, but much better defense, so I wanted to make his def higher than his atk, so for a level 4 monster I thought 1400/2000 was reasonable. You are correct, Charmander should have higher attack and one more star, though thanks to his effect, he basically has 1700 atk (barring skill drain or DNA Transplant or anything). my only defense for the star is I made Squirtle and Bulbasaur with the B's and Charmander with the C's a month or so later, so I just didn't remember and didn't bother looking it up. Celebi is one of the set of pokemon that have 100 as their base stat in all their stats (which is above average for one stat, and really good to have in all of them), and it is a legendary so I figured those stats would be decent. Those stats are fairly common for a level 8 monster (though admittedly, not both on the same monster, but hey. it's a legendary time traveling pokemon). I do plan on making the Eeveelutions (and of course, Eevee) but it will be in the "E" set, as none of the Eeveelutions begin with "D" Might do some specialized cards for some Pokemon, but I might not. The only real reason I did for Combee is that its ability (Honey Gather) is used for literally nothing except for getting Honey. Also, I didn't think of it at the time, but the Honey cards sort of mirror the mechanic of slathering trees in Honey to find new Pokemon ..............not sure why I felt the need to respond to your comment with a novel, but here it is. and again, thanks for the comment :)
Deathdwarf
Alright, got it - I didnt count in Charmanders ability as the other ones have some too and Bulbasaurs is actually quite decent. How can I see if a card is out of deck A, B etc.? I see that it has something to do with the starting letters, like ekans getting into Arbok. But how can I tell if the evolved forms have different early letters? Then its just the first one, I guess. So Caterpie goes over Metapod to Butterfree and is therefore generation B, right? - Nice system! (I know you explain in in the description, but I found it quite cryptic and had no idea what you meant xD) Yes, with Celebi I can see what you did there, didnt care about the level really, just a pokemon freak inside me. ;) Thanks for writing a novel, I appreciate the effort ^.^
dragonfly9078
I think for the rest of the updates I will put the letter of the update on the card above where the type is, opposite the "Poke-###" bit. Not going to go through and redo all the ones I've already posted though, so if it doesn't have a letter, it is either A, B, or C. Yeah, the wording in the intro paragraph is a bit odd. That's a pretty good explanation of it though. You're very welcome! Pokemaniacs have to stick together! XD
Roxas6674
Wouldnt you consider Celebi more of a fairy than a plant i mean sure it controls nature but a lot of things do that
dragonfly9078
That's true...I was going for the Grass type with the plant thing...but I guess I wouldn't make Jirachi a Machine type
Deathdwarf
May I mention I just love the Alakazam artwork? The Abra family looks awesome! :D It is one of my favorite pokemon, as well. But I don't like Alakazam's effect, as it is really, really strong. You should make it something like: "If the Die shows a 5, you may destroy of of your opponent's card. If it shows a 6, you may destroy 3." But having a 2 in 3 chance to destroy at least 3 cards is just an overwhelming effect, I think. Think of the possibilities if this card was real *.* put together multiple Alakazams and go on a killing spree.
dragonfly9078
maybe I should make it "destroy cards equal to the number shown on the die. If the number of cards on the field is less than the number shown on the die, destroy all cards on the field" or something along those lines, so if your opponent only has 1 and you roll higher than that you have to kill your own cards as well. Deathdwarf
That would be nice. Would specialize Alakazam against creature spamming decks. Nice idea ;)
