I find protection is essential if I want to keep up my control style with this deck. Heavy is GG if my opponent uses it right without me counter playing.

You know what else is GG? Trying to use Bribe against EDragons, Prophecy, or Mermails.

You run a similar list to mine. Personally, I agree with you that Dark Bribe is not a bad card, but Starlight Road nets you Stardust and protects against Heavy as long as Necrovalley or another S/T is on the field. Bribe does cover more things, and honestly, things like Prophecy, E-Dragons, other tier-1 decks, etc, will have ways to get advantage whether you give them a +1 or not. It's all a matter of opinion, but I do think Starlight is the better card to protect from Heavy and Dark hole and etc.

Have you considered Wonder Wands?

At first, I didn't like Wonder Wands, but Recruiter gets his effect if you use Wonder wand's eff, and I've definitely had turns where I've had to have a lone recruiter on the field, so I think it's fine either way, and a little bit of draw power would help GKS. Ultimate Offering is okay in this deck too, because it helps swarm and empties your hand for Royal Tribute, so that's something to consider.
