Beneath the Great Blue [Mini-Set] 30/30

This Set is composed of WATER monster of varying Archetypes, all of which use artwork from DM.

 

The First Archetype included is a group of Psychic-Type monsters known as 'Dominion Blue' monsters. Rather than specifically supporting one another they focus mostly on supporting Aqua-Type monsters, mostly Level 3 and lower monsters, a few may even be playable outside of WATER decks.

 

The second is the Aqua Archetype, those monsters really don't have any synergy but they play individual roles.

 

The Third Archetype, like the Aqua Archetype contains Aqua-Type monsters. They differ from their predecessors in that they have their own of synergy that can be boosted by the Dominion Blue Archetype mentioned above. The High Level monsters focus on boosting and protecting the weaker monsters.

 

The Archetypes do not have their own Spell/Trap Support as of yet, and likely never will. They can be Supported by existing WATER support, and some Singles I've introduced in earlier years.

Once per turn, when you Summon a WATER monster, you can pick up cards from the top of your deck until you pick up 2 monsters of the same level, 2 Spell Cards or 2 Trap Cards, add those 2 cards to your hand. Shuffle the remaining cards into your deck.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Lore]You can Special Summon this card by Banishing 2 level 3 or lower Psychic or Aqua-Type monsters you control. Once per turn you can destroy 1 Aqua-Type monster on the field. When a monster you control is destroyed by a card effect, you can Special Summon up to 2 Level 3 or lower monsters from your graveyard, or add 1 Spell card in your graveyard to your hand.[/spoiler]

more low level dominion
and more low level Aqua archetype, needs support
and some spell/trap cards

 

Dominion Blue monsters are made to Support Aqua-Type monsters, they cover quite a bit of benefits. If they were made to support EACHother then I would add more low levels monsters but they are not.

 

The Aqua Archetype are loosely related monsters that have their own roles, they are supported by Dominion Blue(as said in the beginning of the post). They can also work with the Troupers.

Overall nice. I like the idea behind the Dominion Blue cards, however many of them give you ridiculous draw and hand advantage. I.E. Emperor Neuron, Emperor Gyulum, Empress Himiko, Empress Maribel, Lord Ha. Many of these cards give you +1 and +2 to your hand, you always want to try to get the draw card effects to be 1/1.
