Adak33
More specifically, This Archetype represents a front line of warriors defending a back line of Spellcasters. There are two cards that really form the heart of this archetype. As long as this card remains face up on the field, monsters with "Back Row" in their name cannot be attacked by enemy monsters. Half the centerpiece of the Archetype. I think you can see why. This Monster may attack your opponents life points directly. ...And the counterpart! I think you can see why these two work well together. Of course, you can't have an Archetype with just two Monsters... So long as this monster remains face up on the field, Monsters with "Front Row" in their names cannot be sent to the Graveyard by Spell or Trap cards. ...So here's some support. And of course there's a "Striker" for the front lines too... But he doesn't have an effect. So why would you use him? So long as a Monster with the name "Front Row Striker" is face up on the field, Monsters with the name "Front Row Defender" cannot be destroyed in battle. This is why. ...Though I'll admit that I'm not entirely happy with this particular card. I considered alternatives -- like having it boost the defense of Front Row Defenders for every Front Row Striker on the field -- but nothing seemed right, so I returned to my original idea. But the Striker isn't the only normal Monster in the Archetype. There's also this guy: Who is usable only because of this card: Activate only when your Life Points are at 4000 or less. If you have no Monsters with "Front Row" in their names on the field, Special Summon up to three "Front Row Grunt"s from your hand or deck. And this one: You may sacrifice a "Front Row Grunt" in order to special summon any Monster with "Front Row" in its name from the Graveyard. (And no, I couldn't find a picture for it. Shut up.) There are also other Back Row Monsters that Front Row Defender can protect, such as this guy: As long as this Monster remains on the field in face up attack mode, increase the attack of every "Back Row Striker" by 100. And this guy: As long as this monster remains face up on the field, Monsters with an original attack of 2500 or higher cannot attack. Whose support abilities should be obvious. And they can be called up by this: This card may only be activated if you have two or more Monsters on the field with"Front Row" in their names. Special Summon a three star or less Monster with "Back Row" in its name from your deck to the field in face up defense position. And believe it or not, the Archetype also has Monsters that need to be tribute summoned. They, uh, don't quite fit as well with the rest of the Archetype, though. Increase this Monster's attack by 300 for every Monster in the graveyard with "Front Row" in its name. When this card is Summoned, place a Counter on it for every card in your Graveyard with "Back Row" in its name. Once per turn during your Battle Phase, you may remove two tokens from this card to destroy one of your opponent's cards. ...Yeaaah, I have no idea what I'm doing. MagnetBomb
Hmm, these look pretty cool. Perhaps add one that allows any monster to become back row for a turn?
