so then lets discuss their merits on just a functional level. in which case, again, convulsion loses because only 1 card is revealed and its continuous. if youre gonna be looking at cards for effects you should try to take full advantage of that and convulsion is probably one of the worst ways to do so.

You get to use Archfiend's Oath, Psi-Blocker, Gishki Diviner (Deep Sea Diva), Conscription, Mind Crush, etc etc.

 

It's better than single-time use pigeonhole.

 

edit: Also you actually get to shuffle your deck with CoN. If you use the Spellbook to combo with Archfiend's Oath or Gishki Diviner, you can't use search cards to make full use of its effect.
