Tenoè
Valkyrie abuse. Herfjotur of the Nordic Ascendant (Level 3/LIGHT/Fairy/ATK 700/DEF 900) During your Main Phase, if a Token Monster was used as Synchro Material Monster for the Summon of an "Aesir" monster this turn, and this card is currently banished or in the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card. This effect of "Herfjotur of the Nordic Ascendant" can only be activated once per turn. You can return this face-up card to the bottom of the Deck to target either 2 "Nordic Ascendant", 2 "Nordic Alfar" or 2 "Nordic Beast" monsters in your Graveyard, except "Herfjotur of the Nordic Ascendant"; Special Summon those targets. Svipul of the Nordic Ascendant (Level 2/LIGHT/Fairy/ATK 500/DEF 500) Tuner You can treat this card as a non-Tuner monster for a Synchro Summon. During your Main Phase: You can target 1 other face-up "Nordic" monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Einherjar Token" (Level ?/LIGHT/Fairy/ATK ?/DEF ?). Its ATK, DEF and Level are equal to the ATK, DEF and Level of that target. If you Special Summon a Token this way, you can then have this card's Level become the Level of the targeted "Nordic" monster. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field. Volva of the Nordic Alfar (Level 4/LIGHT/Fiend/ATK 1500/DEF 1000) Effect When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 of your banished "Nordic" monsters; Special Summon it OR return it to the Graveyard, and if you return it this way, draw 1 card. If this card is banished: You can Special Summon 1 "Nordic" monster from your Deck in face-up Defence Position, except "Volva of the Nordic Alfar". You can only use this effect of "Volva of the Nordic Alfar" once per turn. Geri of the Nordic Beasts (Level 2/LIGHT/Beast/ATK 1100/DEF 1200) If you control a "Nordic" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Gift of the Gods (Continuous Spell Card) If you Synchro Summon an "Aesir" monster to your field: Draw 2 cards. The effect of "Gift of the Gods" can only be used once per turn. Trickery of the Gods (Normal Spell Card) Special Summon 1 "Aesir" monster from your Extra Deck to your opponent's field (this Special Summon is treated as a Synchro Summon), and if you do, you can add 1 "Nordic" monster from your Deck to your hand. Might of the Gods (Normal Spell Card) Special Summon 1 "Nordic" monster from your hand. During your Draw Phase, if you draw a "Nordic" monster via your normal draw, and this card is in your Graveyard: You can reveal that monster; add this card to your hand, but if you do, you cannot activate this card this turn. Ragnarok (Normal Trap Card) When a face-up "Nordic" or "Aesir" monster you control is targeted for an attack: Destroy all other cards you control, then if you do, add "Nordic" cards from your Deck to your hand equal to the number of cards destroyed with this effect. You cannot Special Summon 2 or more monsters from your Extra Deck during your next turn after you activated this card. Well, I hope you'll leave a comment! :D For the Nordic Gods. 玄魔の王
Herfjotur of the Nordic Ascendant During your Main Phase, if a Token Monster was used as Synchro Material Monster for the Summon of an "Aesir" monster this turn, and this card is currently banished or in the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card. Neat effect, but couldn't you just write "Nordic" Monsters as there aren't really any that don't fall in those 3 besides the non-existent Jormungandr and Fenrir? Also, I feel it should only be able to use one of these effects per turn, or double Aesir spam becomes really easy. Svipul of the Nordic Ascendant You can treat this card as a non-Tuner monster for a Synchro Summon. During your Main Phase: You can target 1 other face-up "Nordic" monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Einherjar Token" (Level ?/LIGHT/Fairy/ATK ?/DEF ?). If you Special Summon a Token this way, you can then have this card's Level become the Level of the targeted "Nordic" monster. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field. Decent enough. Volva of the Nordic Alfar (Level 4/LIGHT/Fiend/ATK 1500/DEF 1000) Effect When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 of your banished "Nordic" monsters; Either: Special Summon it; OR return it to the Graveyard and draw 1 card. If this card is banished: You can Special Summon 1 "Nordic" monster from your Deck in face-up Defence Position, except "Volva of the Nordic Alfar". I assume the draw effect only occurs if you don't Special Summon it, hence the bolded errata. Also, Volva also makes double Aesir sacking easier. Geri of the Nordic Beasts (Level 2/LIGHT/Beast/ATK 1100/DEF 1200) If you control a "Nordic" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Eh, decent. Gift of the Gods (Continuous Spell Card) If you Synchro Summon an "Aesir" monster: Draw 2 cards. The effect of "Gift of the Gods" can only be used once per turn. It's a pretty good card for the deck, and I'm glad it only works once a turn. So, wait, this works with the above Continuous Spell, and then if you kill the Aesir you get it. This might be slightly OP. Might of the Gods (Normal Spell Card) Special Summon 1 "Nordic" monster from your hand. During your Draw Phase, if you draw a "Nordic" monster via your normal draw, and this card is in your Graveyard: You can reveal that monster; add this card to your hand. Plusses. Plusses Everywhere. make it "Activate only one of these per turn" and you have a deal. Ragnarok (Normal Trap Card) When a face-up "Nordic" or "Aesir" monster you control is targeted for an attack: Destroy all other cards you control, then if you do, add "Nordic" cards from your Deck to your hand equal to the number of cards destroyed with this effect. Sorry to say this to you, but Gotterdammerung and Ragnarok are essentially the same thing. Not to mention this doesn't really fit its name, as that war destroyed the Gods as well. Also, this is Spellbook Judgment Day for Nordics, and that thing is textbook bad card design.
Tenoè
Neat effect, but couldn't you just write "Nordic" Monsters as there aren't really any that don't fall in those 3 besides the non-existent Jormungandr and Fenrir? Also, I feel it should only be able to use one of these effects per turn, or double Aesir spam becomes really easy.Well, that bit basically means you can Special either 2 Nordic Ascendants OR 2 Nordic Alfars OR 2 Nordic Beasts. And I suppose that it IS an instant Aesir (any Aesir) if it revives Vanadis and Svipul, so I'll probably nerf either this or Svipul, I'll think about that. I assume the draw effect only occurs if you don't Special Summon it, hence the bolded errata. Also, Volva also makes double Aesir sacking easier. You are correct, the draw only occurs if you return the monster to the Graveyard. And I completely overlooked the fact that it could summon Herfjotur (it's a Nordic, d'oh), but I'm not really sure how to nerf that yet.So, wait, this works with the above Continuous Spell, and then if you kill the Aesir you get it. This might be slightly OP.Ah. I didn't intend for you to draw off of this with Gift, so I'll change Gift to only if you Summon an Aesir to your field. As for the second part I think that's balanced enough, since you would still need to get the appropriate Tuner in the Graveyard as well.Plusses. Plusses Everywhere. make it "Activate only one of these per turn" and you have a deal.I originally intended for this to work with Mimir, so I can easily change this.Sorry to say this to you, but Gotterdammerung and Ragnarok are essentially the same thing. Not to mention this doesn't really fit its name, as that war destroyed the Gods as well. Also, this is Spellbook Judgment Day for Nordics, and that thing is textbook bad card design.Eh. That's a shame. :l It's kind of appropriate, since you can destroy your Gods with its effect as well, but yeah, not really that much...it mostly earned that title because of its actual effect, which I really only had Valkyrie in mind when making it. (clears your field whilst getting fodder in the hand) Like SJD, I probably should never have made this card in the first place, but I'll attempt to balance it as best I can whilst having it remain proficient in its original purpose. Thanks for the review, though! I really appreciate it.
