Cannot be Special Summoned. During the End Phase of the turn this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Return it to the hand. When this card is Normal Summoned: Add 1 Spirit monster from your Deck to your hand. You can return this card to your hand to destroy 1 card on the field.

It's a searcher, and can pop a card per turn for the cost of returning it to the hand. It doesn't suddenly make Spirit monsters competitive or anything, but it acts as a nice way to get them moving.

You know, you don't have both Spirit and Effect, that's just overkill :P Anyway, the effect is kind of powerful, a free pop on a 1800 monster with 2000 DEF and it can add ANY Spirit to your hand, meaning you can just keep on getting this card, or any other good Spirit. "But Sprits suck" you say, well that may be that they are not the best, but this card is just unfair. Maybe that's just me? I just don't really like this card's design all that much.

Well, it's true that you can add another to your hand, but it will always take up your normal summon, so I didn't think that was too much of an issue. As Spirit monsters are intrinsically weak due to the fact they can't be Special Summoned (most of the time), I feel like they need strong or all-purpose effects, sorta like Geminis. Would making it a tribute change that? Or something completely different, some kind of spirit/monarch thing.

The problem is that even if it's limited to using up your Normal, that can be worked around with various other effects, and you can just focus on an SS only Deck, use up your Normal for a free pop and get yourself something in your hand, discard the Spirits for some effects maybe? A Tribute would kill this card, making it totaly useless to be honest, no, you need to change it in a different way. I don't really know how if you want to keep it the way you have it now.

I just felt that Spirits needed some sort of powerhouse to work around. It could be a sole searcher, but that isn't exactly original.

On the other hand, a pop seems a little limp. But as you've pointed out, having both seems too strong. I'll work a compromise, and scratch what I said about a tribute monster, that is never going to be worth the hassle.

You see, even if it's your mind suppose to be limited to just a Spirit based build, this can float in pretty much any Deck as it got plenty of ATK and DEF power, can get more of itself thinning out your Deck (while you might end up not really being able to use that part of the effect sometimes) and getting more of this guy for no real cost besides maybe losing your Normal for a turn, but in case you dead draw and this is your only option, it can keep you alive for a bit that's for sure.
