Rather than make a new archetype; i've decided to build on an existing archetype; Penguins. I've decided to put this as written cards, before I spend time making them real. Oh yeah I strongly recommend you read this first: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Penguin Newcomers I didn't want to change what was already there, only wanted to add to them to make them more viable. Penguin Soldier, Nightmare Soldier, Bolt Penguin, Flying Penguin, The Great Emperor Penguin and Puny Penguin are still key parts of a penguin deck, as are cards like Rescue Rabbit. All new monsters are Aqua and Water. Sleepy Penguin - Level 4 - Atk 500 Def 2000 - Normal Monster; (While using both lvl 3 and lvl 4 XYZ have more flexibility, I wanted to give penguin decks the option of being more focused and reliable) Rockhopper Penguin - Level 7 - Atk 2000 Def 2500 - Effect Monster - This card cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This card must first be special summoned by changing 3 face up "Penguin" monsters you control into face-down defense position. Once per turn, you can tribute 1 Face-up "Penguin" monster you control, add 1 "Penguin" monster from your deck to your hand. (Penguins previously lacked a boss monster, and I think Rockhopper does his job as one perfectly, staying true to the flipping mechanics of the decks and following Penguin's weakness; their low attacking power) Penguin Revolutionary - Rank 4 - Atk 1900 Def 1600 - 2 Level 4 "Penguin" Monsters. Once per turn you can special summon 1 "Penguin" Normal Monster from your hand, deck or graveyard to your side of the field in face-up attack position. If a "Penguin" monster would be destroyed, you can detach 1 XYZ material from this card instead. (Just so we aren't eternally praying for more rabbits…) Frozen Penguin - Level 1 - Atk 0 Def 0 - Effect Monster- Once per turn, during either players turn, you can discard this monster from your hand, until the End Phase of this turn "Penguin" monsters on your side of the field cannot be destroyed. Frosted Guardian - Normal Trap Card - When your opponent declares an attack, negate the attack. Then add 1 "Frozen Penguin" from your deck to your hand. Iceberg Lounge - Field Spell Card - Once per turn you can special summon one "Penguin" monster from your hand. You cannot Normal Summon the turn you use this effect (but you can Set). Oh and bring this sucker to TCG too:http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Guard_Penguin Might as well acknowledge the extended family. ----- I feel they'd be far from overpowered in today's metagame what with all the crazy, first turn giant synchos running around, a good anti meta style deck like this would be kinda cool. I don't have a specific deck, but I'd run support cards for penguins like Rescue Rabbit (duh), Utopia, Stardust Dragon(via starlight road) as well as the spells like Salvage, Book of Moon and the splashable cards. In case your curious; the penguins look a lot like their namesake. Sleepy Penguin is a sleepy penguin, rockhopper penguin is a rockhopper penguin, frozen penguin is a frozen penguin (kinda creepy like). Penguin Revolutionary looks like a redcoat ;) Any Feedback / Images / Comments is appreciated. BONUS: Try and work out where I got the name Iceberg Lounge, and what it has to do with Penguins.
