Kingdom Xathers
I was reading the Tips article for Block Golem on the Wikia, which mentioned the fact in my title here ^ You can banish 1 Level 3 or lower Rock-Type monster from your Graveyard; this card's Level becomes equal to the Level of the banished monster. This effect of "Gem-Core Golem" can only be used once per turn.
OpticalGalaxyStar
Simple and to the point. I like that. However, in my opinion, I think that instead of having Gem's Level decrease when you Banish a Rock-Type Monster, you should also have the choice to increase his Level by the Banished monster's Level. This is how I would write that... You can Banish 1 Level 3 or below Rock-Type monster from your Graveyard, and activate 1 of these effects: -Increase this card's Level by the Level of the Banished Rock-Type monster. -Decrease this card's Level by the Level of the Banished Rock-Type monster. However, if you don't want Gem-Core Golem to have this effect, then you might want to capitalize the "B" in "Banish" (yeah, I know, call me a grammar freak, I don't care.). That's about all I can see, but overall, this is a really nice card! I would definitely run this in a Synchro Rock Deck if I ever use one! :) Nice Job! Althemia
Effect I like it. Makes Block Golem plays a hell of a lot stronger when you use it to make something like Crimson Blader or Scrap Dragon. Then there's the fact that it's a standalone good card by enabling you to use it as a Soul of Silvermountain card by banishing a Level 3 or a Gachi target by banishing a Level 2. idk how you'd make the Gachi in Rocks though. I feel like there's some variant of Rocks that could use it, such as Chronomaly, where it would prove to be a very welcome addition in making their Xyzing faster.Design Pretty good. The only thing that I really have to question is why you put a level restriction on the thing. As a whole, Rock monsters are not a very well supported type. Giving them a card which could reach higher levels would allow Rock decks, again such as Chronomaly, to get a lot faster and have a good majority more options. It would not impact upon the design of the card either, as it would suffer from Rekindling syndrome from the lack of targets the card has.Flavor I don't really understand how Level 3 or lower really has to do with this, though I understand that the effect is meant to be him taking the core of fallen Rocks and stuff. I dunno, I feel like it'd flow better if you made it so that it could become any Rock in the Graveyard.Overall It's pretty good. I feel like you could play it in decks like Chronomaly as a tech card or a 1-of in order to give them a majority more options. Rock Stun wouldn't really want it because it doesn't do anything to help the entire 'stun' aspect, but for Chronomaly it's definitely a choice. FF Fan
Simple and effective. Makes for adjustable tuning and xyzing. The card art is decent as well.
Therrion
The level modulation hardly ever helps aside from Rank 3 into Soul of Silvermountain. Other then that, adds Synchro capabilities to Block Golem, which is great to have, and the banishing can assist Rock Decks that use Release from Stone, but that card isn't really worth it. Overall, this would probably be ran as a one of, and sent to the Graveyard with the assortment of options Rocks have to send their kind to the Graveyard to set up Block Golem Synchro Plays. The only thing you'd be able to go into (Lv. 8 wise with Block Golem reviving this and another Rock) is Scrap Dragon, and Lv. 7 has access to Scrap Archfiend, but really, not worth the banish in grave and trouble when Scrap Dragon is strictly better. Pretty good. Nothing too crazy, but Yugioh needs those "Just right" cards, that are there for a purpose while not being broke, and this card is a perfect example of that.
