PinesolOfChaos
Wanted to bring back old tribute summons with this guy, allowing them to be slightly faster. Does it seem balanced? (Insect/Dark/Level 8/ATK 2300/DEF 2900) You can Tribute Summon this card with 1 to 3 tributes. When this card is Normal Summoned apply the following effects based on the number of monsters used as tributes to summon it: - 1 or more: Change this card to face-up defense position. - 2 or more: Draw one card. - 3 or more: You can Tribute Summon one additional Level 8 monster this turn, treating this card as 2 Tributes. ♥Kisumi-nee
Ok...this card is kind of broken in many ways. Lemme explain. When tribute summoned with 1 monster: A level 8 monster with 2300/2900 stats summoned with 1 monster is way too broken. Even being summoned in face-up defense position doesn't balance it at all cause of its high defence. When tribute summoned with 2 monsters: So far, out of the 3 I would prefer this effect instead but it still doesn't suit the card. I wouldn't go focusing by tributing 2 monsters of mine just so this card can get me to draw 1 card. When tribute summoned with 3 monsters: Errr...so I tribute summon this guy out so it could be used as a tribute for another card...? Err...No..I don't think it's good at all. I don't see the point on the 3rd effect at all, sorry. Well, I wasn't trying to be mean, I just stated what i seem to see wrong on the card. You seem new, I can tell. Well you can always keep trying and trying. That's where success goes from.
Therrion
If you have three tributes, why not just tribute 2 of the three instead of tributing three into this for the Tribute Summon of that other monster? Horrible design choice in that lest effect. Perhaps have this as the first effect. The Draw 1 card is random, but only triggers if you -2 yourself anyways, making it a -1 in total. It somewhat helps the card, but not enough. The Defense Position is just whatever. I would remove it, replace the 1st effect with the 3rd effect, and give the card some badass third effect (like Gilford the Lightning style), for example, banishing 2 cards. That way, you would -3 for Summon, +1 From Draw, +2 from banishing, resulting in an overall 0 and still not messing the balance. You could probably do more on this card still after these additions and not cross the line. Also, nobody cares if it has high DEF as a Level 8, walls are walls, and walls get owned easily in real competitive play. My suggested effect: "You can Tribute Summon this card with any number of Tributes (min. 1). When this card is Tribute Summoned: Activate the following effects based on the amount of monsters tributed for this card's Tribute Summon. 1+: You can Normal Summon 1 additional Level 7 or higher monster this turn, treating this card as 2 Tributes. 2+: Draw 1 card. 3+: Banish 2 cards on the field." PinesolOfChaos
The whole tribute after effect would be meant to be used in conjunction with "Precious Cards from Beyond" (Lets you draw two for Tribute Summoning using at least 2 monsters). Meaning if you get all 3 of this cards effects off it'll let you draw 5. Seeing as this is meant to be an in-between card though, I might reduce some stats on it. How about this instead? (Insect/Dark/Level 8/ATK 2000/DEF 2500) You can Tribute Summon this card with any number of Tributes (min. 1). When this card is Normal Summoned activate the following effects based on the number of monsters used as tributes to summon it: - 1 or more: You can Normal Summon one additional Level 7 or higher monster this turn, treating this card as 2 Tributes. - 2 or more: Draw 1 card. - 3 or more: Target two cards on the field. Banish them.
