I actually have two versions of this card, and I'm torn as to which version I should ultimately keep. They're both the same up until the last part(s) of its effect.

Phoenix Magicians

FIRE/Rank 4/Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect/2100 ATK/1200 DEF

2 Level 4 Gemini Monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Gemini Monster you control; the target is treated as an Effect Monster, and gains its effect(s). When an Xyz Material(s) is detached from this card: This card gains 300 ATK. During the End Phase of a turn that this face-up card was sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 face-up Gemini Monster you control; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard and attach that target to this card as an Xyz Material.

* Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed: You can banish 1 Gemini Monster from your Graveyard instead. During the End Phase of the turn this effect is used (even if this card leaves the field): You can Special Summon 1 Gemini Monster from your hand or Graveyard.

An insta-Supervise that you don't have to worry about drawing into is pretty nice, especially since that also beefs this guy up a bit.  Now, a separate commentary based on each version of the card:

Version 1: The first version of this card seems a bit...  Annoying to deal with ala Bram the Elderitter or whatever the hell it's called.  The damn thing won't die and it can keep supervising your Geminis, and there's very little your opponent can do about that (in an ideal context anyways).

Version 2:  Self-protection is fine with me, and the summoning effect is...  Also fine with me.  It encourages skillful play on the opponent's part on when exactly they want to get rid of it, which I like.

Both versions are fairly decent, but I personally like 2 more than 1.  1 conforms more so to flavor and 2 conforms to design.
