I like the effect, and personally I think its good for like a beatstick-oriented Deck. That said, the way the card is now, the ATK and DEF increases are permanent, which is pretty poor design (especially when the monster could potentially be gaining 2000-3000 ATK). So, the way I see it, you need to make sure that the ATK/DEF revert to normal when the equip spell is destroyed, and you need some sort of cost/drawback to prevent spamming. Here's my suggestion:

Once per turn, during either player's turn, when the equipped monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it gains the ATK and DEF of the destroyed monster. When this face-up card is removed from the field, the equipped monster's ATK and DEF become 0.

The suggestion above would restrict the effect to once per turn (so you can't use diffusion wave motion to OTK or use Asura Priest in a similar manner). The additional drawback is that when the card leaves the field, the equipped monster goes back to 0 ATK/DEF. The drawback was my own creation, and if you want it to be different, you can change it up. However, the way the card is now, its a little too powerful. Maybe my suggestion makes the card too weak, but the point is that you need to have some form of drawback.

Here is an idea, how about instead of gaining full ATK it gains something like 500-600 ATK, or you could say half the ATK of the monster is destroys but if if the equipped monster doesn't attack it loses all the ATK it gained, also make it so it can't attack directly and maybe the equipped monster does half damage.
