Text: This card can also be treated as a Machine type monster for a Synchro summon. If you control an EARTH non-tuner monster, you can special summon this card from your hand. You can only Special Summon "Steampunk Marauder" this way once per-turn.

 

Ok so nothing special.... An earth tuner soo... Kakauri, Naturas, ...... And just plain good Synchro support..... It has no on field effect, as I thought that may break him.... Any suggestions on this guy?

The first effect seems a bit useless. From what little I investigated, no Synchro monsters requires a Machine-type tuner nor is there a card that specificly limits the Synchro Material monsters to strictly Machine-types. So, this leaves only its attribute as an important point, which is only a requirement for the "Naturia" synchro monsters. Considering its level, it can't be used for Naturia Beast.

 

It's good point is that it is the only universal -and somewhat decent- level 5 tuner. But, with the sweetspot for Synchros being level 8, you would be reduced to using level 3 EARTH non-tuners. So its uses are really limited to X-sabers, scraps and Naturia (whom all have more than 1 tuner on that level) and it's not like Karakuri have a problem with their synchro.

 

So, it is really underwhelming. Most tuner are preffered level 4 and under (as said, level 5 you can easily miss the sweetspot) and the amount of options this opens is very miniscule (Mainly because Naturias aren't limited in their materials and Karakuri don't have problems).
