Therrion
This card is treated as a Tuner monster while face-up on the field or in your hand. During your opponent's Main Phase: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to target 1 monster your opponent controls; this turn, that card cannot be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Material for a Summon. It spreads the Duston drawback, messing up Extra Deck plays. It has a few other interactions of which I included on it, purposely, to increase the competitive value of it. Zazubat
If I gave a good review, could you give me a like/rep? It helps me out in the Review Board.Effect & Use: Well, it is a pretty basic lock-down effect, it isn't anything I have seen before. Though, most tend not really to be worth running in your Deck. It it nice that it is a Tuner, at least sometimes. It isn't in the Deck or the Graveyard, which means some effects will work on him, while some won't. It is searhble by Redox, which is a nice bonus. It is more usable than others, and as Effect Veiler, provides multiple uses. I still don't think it will be run outside of Decks, unless you can run Redox in it. It is pretty nice for Madolche, since they would like guys in the Graveyard to play around with their effects, and they can make some Synchros like the Naturia as well. Other EARTH Decks might also want this, like Gogogo and such. It isn't half bad since Dragon and EARTH work pretty well together.Design/Balance: It isn't horribly unbalanced. I mean, Duston arn't that broken, even for what they can possibly do, and this isn't that different. It is also just for one turn, while it has Shock Master-like ending to its effect, it isn't forever, so I like that.Flavor/Image and Originality: I got no idea what "whelpling" is, so I cannot really say much on that. The image is alright, can fit somewhat well together with the effect, let's say that the frog is a frog from the Frog Archetype, and they make sense in that regard. It is original in the sense that there's no hand trap version of Duston, but I have seen this concept on this site before, and it is a pretty plain effect regardless.Overall: It is decent. It has some good things outside of its main job. I still feel that most players probably wouldn't use such a card unless they deal in EARTH and/or Dragons. But that said, it is decently balanced in my book, doesn't seem to need anything else. I would give it 8/10OCG fix: None, and for that you get Zazu's Zeal of Approval. Therrion
YAY ZAZU ZEAL I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW *shot* A Whelpling is a baby Dragon (Warcraft terms) It is Tuner in hand and field by effect, meaning Chamenleon would negate such said effect and make it a non-Tuner, providing a Naturia Beast Synchro. It can go with Redox into a Level 8 Synchro as well as be searched by such said Redox. It is a Cards of Consonance target, if that is noteworthy. Otherwise, hard core old time players would enjoy making something not be able to be used as Material, and it can mess up a few plays. Should I add something more, or is it fine as is? Like, stopping that monster's ability to declare an attack this turn, or, making the effect permanent (highly unlikely)?
