TheKaitoKid
Few decks can stand the test of times and Dino Rabbit (also known as Guide Rabbit in the OCG) is no exception. With loss of 1 Rescue Rabbit as well as the loss of both Sangan and his third partner, Tour Guide, mixed with the rise of faster, more powerful decks, Dino Rabbit has all but fallen off of the competitive scene (one variant, Macro Rabbit, still showed signs of life earlier this year). That changes today, with the introduction of Raino the Lightning! Dinosaur/LIGHT/Level 4 If you control a face-up Normal Monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only Special Summon 1 "Raino, the Lightning" this way per turn. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from your Deck in Defense Position. You can only activate this effect of "Raino, the Lightning" once per turn. Seems pretty straight-forward right? Special Summon it while you control a Vanilla for a decent beatstick of a 1 turn Xyz! But that's not all that makes this card great, check its Type. Being Dinosaur opens up plenty of possibilities to go into the powerful Evolzar dragons! But Raino is no 1-trick-pony! Combo him with Rescue Rabbit and go straight for powerful Xyz's that require more than just 2 monsters, such as the devastating Evilswarm Ouroboros or even the game changing Vylon Disigma. If you think it stops there, you're wrong. In a more dedicated build, Rescue Rabbit, in combination with Raino and a Normal Tuner (such as Tune Warrior or Flamvell Guard) turns into a powerful Xyz enabler using Synchros! Because Raino's effect triggers when he's sent to the Graveyard, using him for a Synchro Summon allows you to use the remaining tuner, summoned via Rabbit, and the newly summon Normal Monster, summoned by Raino, to make another monster of the same level! Then all that's left to do is overlay the two synchros into a powerful Xyz and use Black and White Wave to rid the field of problem monsters and draw an extra card!
