Adak33
Yes, yes, I know. I think I've done them justice, though. The Servant cards are all level 9 Monsters. Every End Phase, they accrue "Alaya Counters" -- representing the world rejecting their existence. If there's three Alaya Counters on a Servant, it's banished. Place 3 Alaya Counters on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. If this card would be effected by a spell card or the effect of a Spellcaster-Type Monster, you may negate the effect. If a level 10 or below Spellcaster-Type Monster battles this card, you take no battle damage and this card is not destroyed. Each Servant has at least 1 "Noble Phantasm" card -- either a Trap or a Quick-Play Spell -- that allows you to special summon their true identity. The resultant card is equipped with the original Servant, and gains the equipped Servant's effect in addition to a new one. They're supposed to leave the field if they don't have the original Servant equipped, but I left that out for the sake of keeping the text at least somewhat readable. When "Grail Servant Saber" battles an opponent's attack position monster, you may activate this card to switch the opponent's monster to defense position; that monster loses 500 defense until the end of the damage step. At the end of the damage step when this card was activated: you may special summon "Grail Servant Arturia" from your hand or from your banished zone and equip it with "Grail Servant Saber;" Grail Servant Arturia gains "Grail Servant Saber's" effect in addition to its own. This Monster may not be normal summoned or set. This Monster may only be special summoned by the effect of "Noble Phantasm -- Invisible Air." You may place 2 Alaya Counters on this face-up attack position card during either player's Main Phase I to destroy 1 Monster your opponent controls; this Monster may not attack during your next battle Phase. If this effect is activated during your own turn, no Monster Effects may be activated in response to this effect. The true identities are usually level 10; Arturia is an exception. Here's the other Servants I have made so far: Place 2 Alaya Counters on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. Main Phase: you may place 2 Alaya Counters on this card; this card may attack twice during your next Battle Phase. When "Grail Servant Lancer" destroys an opponent's Monster by battle, you may activate this card; destroy 1 Monster your opponent controls, your opponent then loses life points equal to half of "Grail Servant Lancer's" attack. When this first effect has been resolved: you may special summon "Grail Servant Cu Chulainn" from your hand or from your banished zone and equip it with "Grail Servant Lancer;" Grail Servant Cu Chulainn gains "Grail Servant Lancer's" effect in addition to its own. This Monster may not be normal summoned or set. This Monster may only be special summoned by the effect of "Noble Phantasm - Gae Bolg." When this Monster would be destroyed, you may place 2 Alaya Counters on it instead. When this Monster destroys an opponent's Monster by battle, you may place an Alaya Counter on it to attack again. Lancer is a bit weaker than the other Servants stat-wise, and his effects are less varied, but his true identity is easier to get out, since it only requires that Gae Bolg Resolve rather than having additional conditions. I flip-flopped on what attribute he should be though -- it was either Dark or Fire. Place 2 Alaya Counter on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. If this card and a "Grail Master" are targeted for the effect of "Archduke of the Contract," the selected "Grail Master" gains 1000 attack and defense so long as both cards are under the effect. If you control "Grail Servant Caster," select 1 Monster your opponent controls and destroy all spell cards that effect them, except for field spells. If any spell cards were destroyed by this effect, you gain control of the selected Monster so long as you control "Grail Servant Caster." When you gain control of a Monster through this effect : you may special summon "Grail Servant Medea" from your hand or from your banished zone and equip it with "Grail Servant Caster;" Grail Servant Medea gains "Grail Servant Caster's" effect in addition to its own. This Monster may not be normal summoned or set. This Monster may only be special summoned by the effect of "Noble Phantasm - Rule Breaker." If "Grail Servant Caster" is equipped to this card, you may place 2 Alaya Counters on this card to simultaneously attack all Monsters your opponent controls. If you activate this effect, no other Monsters you control can attack this turn and this Monster loses 2000 attack until your next standby phase. Since the original servant is equipped and doesn't leave the field, you still "control it" for the purposes of Noble Phantasm cards. Medea's effect represents that whole "Rain of Light" thing she had going. Place 1 Alaya Counters on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. If you do not control a face-up "Grail Master Sakura" or "Dark Master Sakura," this Monster loses 1000 attack and defense. When this Monster destroys a level 3 or lower Monster by battle, increase its attack by 100. When this card is summoned: Add 1 "Noble Phantasm" trap card from your deck to your hand. When you declare an attack with "Grail Servant Rider" or "Grail Servant Medusa," you may activate this card to increase "Grail Servant Rider" or "Grail Servant Medusa's" attack by 1000 until the end of the Damage Step. If "Grail Servant Rider" was the target of this effect: you may special summon "Grail Servant Medusa" from your hand or from your banished zone and equip it with "Grail Servant Rider;" Grail Servant Medusa gains "Grail Servant Rider's" effect in addition to its own. When "Grail Servant Rider" would be destroyed by battle, you may activate this card; the Monster that would destroy this card is switched to defense position, and may not change its battle position while this card is face-up on the field. When this first effect has been resolved: you may special summon "Grail Servant Medusa" from your hand or from your banished zone and equip it with "Grail Servant Rider;" Grail Servant Medusa gains "Grail Servant Rider's" effect in addition to its own. This Monster may not be normal summoned or set. This Monster may only be special summoned by the effect of a "Noble Phantasm" Trap Card. When your opponent's Monster with defense lower than this Card's attack on the field declares an attack: destroy that Monster. Standby Phase: You may place an Alaya Counter on this card; this Monster deals Piercing Damage until the End Phase. Yes, Medusa has two Noble Phantasm Cards. This is partly because of how in canon she was noted for her unusully large number of phantasms, but ultimately she just plain has a lot more support than a lot of the other Servants (Though part of this is because of her weakening effect, which represents how much weaker she was with Shinji). Case in point: This Monster may not be normal summoned or set. You may only special summon this Monster when you have 3000 or less life points and a "Grail Servant Medusa" equipped with "Mad Enhancement" that you control is destroyed. If this Monster destroys a Monster by battle: Banishthis card during the End Phase; special summon 1 "Grail Servant Medusa" and equip it with one "Grail Servant Rider" from your grave. Why Mad Enhancement? Well, it's similar enough to Monstrous Strength and I didn't want to have to make another card. The last part of the effect is to represent how temporary Monstrous Strength is supposed to be. I have cards for Archer as well, but he's a bit different from the others so I'll get back to him later. As you may have guessed, there's a decent bit of support for these cards, mainly to either bring them out or to slow the accrual of Alaya Counters. One major one has already been mentioned: When you activate this card, select 1 "Grail Master" and 1 "Grail Servant" or "False Servant" Monster you control. Once per Turn: When the selected "Servant" Monster has Alaya Counters placed on it by its own effect, the number of placed counters is reduced by 1. When either of the two selected monsters is removed from the field, return this card to your hand. In some translations, the first line of the summoning chant begins "Archduke of the Contract..." Hence the name. This represents the contract between Master and Servant. You'll note that most Servants accrue 2 counters per turn, while this card only prevents one. Well, if the grail war isn't on, good luck supporting a Servant with just a Master... That's what this is for: If a "Grail Servant" or "False Servant" has Alaya Counters placed on it by its own effect during the End Phase, the number of counters placed on it is decreased by 1. If this card is removed from the field, you may activate the field card "All the Evils of this World" from your deck, hand, or Graveyard. Which is also supplemented by this: While this face-up card is equipped to a "Grail master" Monster that you control, you may summon "Grail Servant" Monsters with one less tribute than usual. ...Though I considered switching their main effects, as well as giving The Lesser Grail the ability to activate "All Evils of This World." And here's a support card you were probably expecting: You may activate this card when a "Grail Master" you control would be destroyed and you control no other Monsters. Pay 800 Life Points, Negate the Monster's destruction, and special summon one level 9 or lower "Grail Servant" from your hand. If you successfully special summon a Monster with this card, place 2 Alaya Counters on the summoned Monster. Maybe it makes getting them out a bit too easy. I dunno. But there was one support card I just plain couldn't resist making. One that allowed Saber to go toe to toe with Berserker while on her last leg. You know what I'm talking about, of course it's the... You may only activate this card if you control a "Grail Master" Monster. Any Alaya Counters that would be placed on the equipped Monster are placed on this card instead. If there are 5 Alaya Counters on this card, banish it. You were expecting something else? This is a SFW site you know! Anyway, I've put it off long enough: Masters! When this Monster is normal or special summoned, you may add one "Archduke of the Contract" from your deck or grave to your hand. Once per turn when this Monster declares an attack, you may discard 1 spell card from your hand to increase this card's attack by 1000 until the end of the damage step. When this Monster is summoned: If you do not control a face-up "Grail Servant Berserker," add 1 "Grail Servant Berserker" from your deck or Grave to your hand. While you control a face-up "Grail Servant Berserker," this Monster may not be destroyed by battle. End Phase: If Alaya Counters would be placed on a card by "Grail Servant Berserker's" effect, decrease the number of placed Counters by 3. Once per turn, if this Monster would be destroyed by battle with a Warrior-Type Monster: it is not destroyed, and your opponent receives any battle damage that you would have taken. When you summon this Monster, you may immediately activate 1 "Book of the False Attendant" from your deck or hand, without setting it. When this Monster is destroyed by battle or a card effect, you may special summon 1 "Grail Master Sakura" from your deck or hand. Oh yes, it seems that there's a support card that I forgot: When you activate this card, select 1 "Grail Master" and 1 "Grail Servant" or "False Servant" Monster you control. Once per turn, when an Alaya Counter would be placed on the selected "Servant" Monster, place it on this card instead. If one of the selected Monsters is a "Grail Servant" other than "Grail Servant Rider," It loses 1000 attack. When either of the two selected monsters is removed from the field, destroy this card. I accidentally gave this card and "Grail Servant Rider" the same effect, representing the same in-universe thing. Fortunately, I changed the effect to exclude rider, and not a single person noticed... >_> The last remaining Grail Master that I've made so far is, of course, our protagonist, Shirou! So long as you control a "Grail Servant Saber," this card cannot be destroyed by battle and any damage you receive from battles involving this card is halved. If this Monster would be destroyed by battle, you may pay 500 life points to negate its destruction and add 1 "Grail Servant Saber" from your deck to your hand. ...Wait what. Yes, this is Shirou -- More specifically, Shirou at the start of the novel, who wants to be a hero of justice but is totally helpless. As a result, his effect is purely defensive and he's part of the HERO archetype (Sort of. For the purposes of a handful of cards, at least). The more mature Shirou is represented by this: You may banish a "Grail Master HERO" you control to special summon this Monster from your hand. You may pay 700 life points to equip this card with an equip card in your hand; negate any effects of the equipped card that would make "Grail master Shirou" an incorrect target for its effect. This Monster may only be equipped with one card at a time. Yeah. That's more what you were expecting, am I right? His ability to trace means that this Shirou can benefit from literally any equip card, including ones that would otherwise be restricted to specific Monsters. He has to pay life points to do it, though -- tracing nearly cooked his brain, the first time he tried. And of course, we have Archer as well. Since he's not a "proper" Servant, he works a bit differently than the others, though his initial card is still a "Grail Servant:" Place 1 Alaya Counter on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. When this Monster battles a Warrior-Type or Light-Attribute Monster, it gains 1000 attack until the end of the Damage Step. Significantly less powerful than other Servants, but also requires one less tribute to get on the field. The effect, naturally, represents both Archer's hatred for heroes (Light) and his ability to catch other melee combatants off-guard (Warrior). I'm not particularly happy with this one, though. Place 1 Alaya Counter on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 4 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. You may treat this Monster as having the name, type, and attribute of any other monster for the purposes of equip cards or "Noble Phantasm" cards; any effect that would allow these cards to summon a Monster is negated. Now this is more like it! I'm considering just plain excluding "Grail Servant Archer" but I'm keeping him in for reasons that I'll explain in a moment. You'll notice that this effect is essentially a more flexible version of "Grail Master Shirou." You'll also notice that he's one level lower than your average servant. He's also banished at 4 Alaya Counters instead of 3; that's due to Independent Action. Naturally though, he has a "true identity" card. But if you're expecting it to be summoned by a "Noble Phantasm" card, you'd be wrong -- Archer doesn't have a Noble Phantasm of his own, after all. This card may not be normal summoned or set. This card may only be special summoned by its own effect. When you control a "False Servant Archer" or "Grail Servant Archer" and there are at least 3 Alaya counters on the field, you may special summon this card from your hand and equip any "False Servant Archer" and "Grail Servant Archer" Monsters you control to this card. This Monster gains the effects of its equipped Monsters. When this Monster is special summoned, you may activate "Unlimited Blade Works" from your hand, deck, or graveyard. And there's the card, as well as the method for getting Unlimited Blade Works out (Like you at any point thought I wasn't going to have an Unlimited Blade Works card). This card may only be activated by its own effect or the effect of "False Servant EMIYA." If you control a "Servant Archer" or "Grail Master Shirou," you may pay 500 life points to activate this card. When this card is activated, both players send all equip cards in their decks to the grave. You may treat equip cards in either grave as if they were in your hand. If you do not control a "Servant Archer" "Grail master Shirou" or "EMIYA" Monster, banish this card. But that's not all. There's one last EMIYA card: This card may not be normal summoned or set. This card may only be special summoned by its own effect. You may remove 10 Alaya Counters from the field to special summon this card from your hand and equip any "False Servant Archer" "Grail Servant Archer" and "False Servant EMIYA" Monsters you control to this card. This Monster gains the effects of its equipped Monsters. This Monster gains 100 attack for every Alaya Counter on the field. While this Monster is more powerful than the other Archer/EMIYA cards, it also accrues Alaya counters much faster if you want him at his strongest, since he gets Alaya Counters from both "False Servant Archer" and "False Servant EMIYA's" effects. Naturally, this represents ARcher in his role as a Counter Guardian, gaining strength as a Counter Force builds. But while we're at it... There is actually a sub-archetype for this card set: Heaven's Feel. This sub-archetype is built around a card you may have noticed being mentioned earlier: This card may only be activated by card effects. This card may only be removed from the field by Monster effects. If this card is removed from the field, banish it. On the End Phase of the turn this card is removed from the field: if there is no field card in play, the life points of this card's owner are reduced to 50. Yes, i know the wording's strange; just roll with it. As you may have guessed, this card is important because of cards that rely on its presence. The biggest one being this: "Sakura the Unbidden"+1 Non-Tuner Monster When you successfully Synchro Summon this Monster, you may activate "All Evils of this World" from your hand deck or grave. If "All Evils of This World" is not face-up on the field, banish this Monster and special summon 1 banished "Grail Master Sakura" if able. While you control an "Alter" Monster, this Monster gains 1000 attack and defense during your opponent's battle phase and may not be destroyed by spells or traps. A little overpowered, I know. And Ironically, "Noble Phantasm -- Rule Breaker" doesn't actually do anything to her (I really should fix that). And what's "Sakura the Unbidden?" Well... This Monster may not be destroyed by Monster effects. You take no damage from battles involving this card. You may return this card from the field to your hand to special summon 1 "Grail Master Shinji" from your hand or deck. This Monster represents Sakura as she is in most routes -- steadfastly staying out of the fight. But tributing this card and 1 level 9 Monster changes that, as we see above. naturally, her effect lets her step off the field and let Shinji take her place. But as you may recall, destroying Shinji brings out a different Monster. When you normal summon this Monster, you may add 1 "Grail Servant Rider" from your deck to your hand. If "All Evils of This World" is face-up on the field, you may banish this face-up defense position Monster to special Summon "Dark Master Sakura" from your Extra Deck. In case you were wondering why you'd want to remove "Sakura the Unbidden" from the field when she's necessary to bring out "Dark Master Sakura," here's your reason. Naturally, there's another part of this archetype: The "Alter" Monsters. "Grail Master Sakura"+"The Shadow" If you control a face-up "Dark Master Sakura" while "Grail Servant Arturia" is on the field, you may special summon this Monster and equip it with "Grail Servant Arturia" and all cards equipped to it. This Monster gains the effects of any "Grail Servant" Monsters equipped to it. This card may not be banished by its own effect. End Phase: If "Dark Master Sakura" is not face-up on the field, return this card to the Extra Deck and banish all cards equipped to it. "Grail Master Sakura"+"The Shadow" If you control a face-up "Dark Master Sakura" while "Grail Servant Chu Chulainn" is on the field, you may special summon this Monster and equip it with "Grail Servant Chu Chulainn" and all cards equipped to it. This Monster gains the effects of any "Grail Servant" Monsters equipped to it. This card may not be banished by its own effect. End Phase: If "Dark Master Sakura" is not face-up on the field, return this card to the Extra Deck and banish all cards equipped to it. "Grail Master Sakura"+"The Shadow" If you control a face-up "Dark Master Sakura" while "False Servant EMIYA" is on the field, you may special summon this Monster and equip it with "False Servant EMIYA" and all cards equipped to it. This Monster gains the effects of any "Servant" Monsters equipped to it. This card may not be banished by its own effect. End Phase: If "Dark Master Sakura" is not face-up on the field, return this card to the Extra Deck and banish all cards equipped to it. While these Monsters are only slightly stronger (Or in Archer's case, slightly weaker) than their counterparts, they have one major advantage: they can stay on the field much longer, since they can't be banished by Alaya Counters. It's more beneficial to summon them through their effects, since otherwise they're just decently strong monsters with effects that return them to the extra deck (Though i should note that I plan on making Alter Monsters for every Servant). But if you wanted to summon them more normally, this is the card you would use to do it: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the hand during the End Phase of the turn it is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. This Monster gains 150 attack and defense for every Alaya Counter on the field. If you control a face-up "Sakura the Unbidden" or "Grail Master Sakura," you may set this Monster without a tribute. When this Monster destroys a Monster by battle, banish that Monster. And there's one last completed card in this sub-archetype: If "All Evils of This World" is in play, you may tribute this Monster: Destroy all Field Cards, Insect-Type "Grail Master" Monsters, and "Grail" "False" or "Dark" "Servant" Monsters on the field, then special summon 1 level 8 or lower Psychic, Warrior, Spellcaster-type Monster that is banished or in your grave. If this card in your grave was sent there by its own effect: No Field Cards may be activated. Basically, it's a surefire way to get rid of "All Evils" and make sure it stays gone. More of a counter to Grail Decks than anything else, though. Anyway, I'm still working on these cards, but here's a teaser of what's to come: If the Monster equipped with this card is "Grail Servant Berserker," "Grail Servant Heracles," "Grail Servant Black Knight," "Grail Servant Lancelot," or a "Dark Servant" Monster: During each of your End Phases, place an Alaya Counter on the equipped Monster and increase its attack by 500; during each of your standby phases, pay 800 life points or destroy the equipped Monster. When you summon this Monster, you may add 1 "Lesser Grail" equip card from your deck to your hand, then select 1 "Grail Servant Monster you control. End Phase: when Alaya Counters would be placed on the selected card by its own effect, decrease the number of placed counters by 2. This Monster's name is treated as "Grail Servant Saber." Place 1 Alaya Counter on this card during each of your End Phases. If there are 3 Alaya Counters on this card, Banish it. If this Monster destroys a Monster by Battle, you may place 1 Alaya Counter on this card to destroy all Dark monsters your opponent controls. If "All Evils of This World" is on the field, lose 2000 life points and banish this card.
