Raviel the Phantom
A rather strange archetype that has multiple strategies. The primary creatures, Karayans, are extremely weak for their high levels, but make up for it by being able to return to the field after being destroyed. Each Karayan has a secondary form that can be released by a "Corruption Outbreak". These second forms are extremely powerful, but are not immortal like their counterparts. The archetype is based off a story I wrote. Please share your thoughts. Normal Monsters An experiment of the Karayans. Its nose allows it to track magical creatures, making it a deadly predator. It infects its prey with venom that transforms the corpse into another of its kind. Effect Monsters If you control a Beast-Type monster on the field, you can Special Summon this card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand and select 1 monster on the field. The selected monster ATK and DEF becomes 0 until the End Phase of the turn this effect is activated. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. Once per turn, you can select 1 monster on your side of the field, and equip it to this card. This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the equipped monster. During the End Phase this turn is activated, send the equipped monster to the graveyard. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. When this card is Normal Summoned, Special Summon 1 "Parasitic Mutt" from your hand or deck. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. You can tribute this card to increase your Life Points for each Karayan monster in your graveyard. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. All "Karayn" monsters gain 200 ATK. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. Your opponent cannot activate Set Spell/Trap cards while this card is on the field. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. When this card is Normal Summoned, Special Summon 1 "Karayan Phantom" from your hand. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 1 face-up "Karayan Alpha" you control to the Graveyard. As long as "Zero Kingdom" remains on the field, this card cannot be destroyed. If this card attacks or is attacked, destroy the opposing monster (Before applying Damage Calculation). This card can only be Summoned by the effect of "Call to the End". When this card is Special Summoned, equip as many "Sacred Crystal" Equip Spell Cards with different names to this card from the hand or graveyard, and negate their effects. You can remove 1 "Sacred Crystal" card from this card to negate an opponent's card effect, and destroy it. During your Standby Phase, place 1 "Oblivion Counter" on this card for each "Sacred Crystal" card equipped to this card. When there are 15 "Oblivion Counters" on this card, you win the duel. Fusion Monsters Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Phantom" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If you do not conduct your Battle Phase, destroy 1 card during the End Phase of that turn. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Fulmine" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Summoned, destroy 2 cards on the field. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Lilith" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card can attack all monsters on the field, once each, during the same Battle Phase. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Marianna" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, destroy 1 face-up monster on the field. Increase your Life Points by the ATK of the destroyed monster. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Omega" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, discard 1 card from your hand, to add 1 "Corruption Outbreak" from your graveyard to your hand. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Set" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Negate all face-up Spell/Trap cards on the field. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Virella" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Summoned, destroy all other cards on the field. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Zephyr" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from the hand, inflict 1000 points of Damage to your opponent's Life Points. Spell Cards Can only equip to "Karayan" monsters. The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK. When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, destroy 1 Set card on the field. When this card is removed from the field, banish the equipped monster. Target 1 face-up "Karayan" monster you control; send it to the Graveyard, then Special Summon 1 monster from the Extra Deck that corresponds with the monster used for tribute. The Summoning of this monster cannot be negated. This card is treated as an Equip Spell Card. Can only equip to "Karayan" monsters. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK. When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, banish 1 card from either graveyard. When this card is removed from the field, banish the equipped monster. Can only equip to "Karayan" monsters. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK. When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, gain 1000 Life Points. When this card is removed from the field, banish the equipped monster. Can only equip to "Karayan" monsters. The equipped monster gains 600 ATK. When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, return 1 card on the field to the owner's hand. When this card is removed from the field, banish the equipped monster. Can only equip to "Karayan" monsters. The equipped monster gains 1200 ATK. When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, inflict 600 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card is removed from the field, banish the equipped monster. Can only be activated if "Alpha the Host" is face-up on the field. During your Standby Phase, Special Summon as many Dark Stalker Tokens (Zombie-Type/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1000/DEF 1000) to your side of the field. When your opponent's monster destroys a Dark Stalker Token, decrease the monster's ATK by 1000. When "Alpha the Host" is removed from the field, destroy this card. Trap Cards Remove from your field or graveyard "Alpha the Host", "Beta the Catalyst" and "Omega the Heart". Special Summon 1 "Oblivion King" from your hand, deck, or graveyard. Morgan LeFlay
When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard (either by battle or card effects) Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed. Having one card with this text would be bad enough, but having an entire archetype? I dunno about this, battle or effects, it comes back. I think this is an overpowered concept without looking at each card individually. Target 1 face-up "Karayan" monster you control; send it to the Graveyard, then Special Summon 1 monster from the Extra Deck that corresponds with the monster used for tribute. The Summoning of this monster cannot be negated. This is mostly a wording issue and does not apply towards the balance of the card. Monsters Summoned by a card effect cannot be negated anyway, at least not by effects that currently exist, because you can't interrupt a resolving effect. Unless you're including that last part of the text just in case a card with a continuous effect is created that can negate Summons, it's not needed. Must be Special Summoned with "Corruption Outbreak" by tributing "Karayan Set" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Negate all face-up Spell/Trap cards on the field. I'm really not sure about this card at all. It's comparable to Naturia Bamboo Shoot except that it doesn't have bamboo shoot's weakness of only 2000 ATK. I would absolutely run Mystic Tomato for your 1200 ATK monster, and then use your quick-play spell to Summon this. It'd still be prone to monster effects, but I feel like this card would probably justify having a Deck built on it, just by itself. The rest of your cards, while I won't review each specifically, are hard to review just because they all have that problematic summon-themselves mechanic. But there are some underpowered effects and such too.
