Sora1499
I haven't designed cards like this before, so if it's broken or something, let me know. This was more of an exercise in creativity than an attempt at flawless design anyways. Comment, review, rate, hate, whatever. Enjoy!
2 Level 1 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Xyz monster your opponent controls; Xyz Summon 1 "Curse of the Lamp" from your Extra Deck to your opponent's side of the field in Defense Position using that target as the Xyz Material (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on the new card).
magemeek22
HOLY SH*T THIS IS COOL. Like totally ingenius, dude. Concepts don't get much better than this. Plus, the artwork - ITS PERFECT. Ermehgerd it's astounding that no one else has tried a similar idea. Props props props. Artwork is brilliant, as mentioned before. Lovin' it. OCG needs some fixes, but the card design itself is really good. The Attribute, Level, Number of Materials, and Type are all very cohesive and make sense. The weak ATK and DEF also come in handy. Balance is really evident; the card can only "jar" one of your opponent's monsters, and in doing so, gets rid of a monster from your Extra Deck. Therefore, not only does using this card require you to occupy an extra space in your Extra Deck (which is difficult to afford), but it also means running two cards in your E.D. for a single play. Very cost-heavy; however, the reward - deadlocking your opponent's XYZ - is SUPER COOL AND WORTH IT. Card Usefulness is also perfect. Like really dude, give us something to criticize. So you can summon this, then deadlock your opponent's XYZ Monster, and then have your opponent be able to use the effect of his new "Curse of the Lamp" to deadlock one of your monsters (if he has a "Curse of the Lamp" in his Extra Deck). Its a continuous chain. Nice. The issues (some of these are mediocre, but a review isn't a review without them XD): Lamp...or jar? Just sayin', the artwork is of a jar but the card name is "Curse of the Lamp"... let that sink in. Maybe Curse of the Vial or Curse of the Jar would be a better name. Limited Useability: Is it worth running 2 of these cards (the minimum to fulfill a single play) just to hurt ONE of your opponent's Xyz Monsters? The card can only use its effect once, since it needs to lose 2 mats. Further, you lose space in your Extra Deck that more powerful cards could hold. Then there's the fact that its a Level 1 XYZ which, if I'm correct, isn't the easiest (though not necessarily difficult). Couple that with the issue of the card ONLY targeting XYZ monsters makes it a high-cost, situational, moderately-difficult-to-summon deck clogger (I exaggerate, but you get the point). I think that if this card could target ANY of your opponent's monsters, well, then it would really see some use. FIXED OCG (to the best of my ability) and changes: 2 Level 1 Monsters Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card to target 1 Monster your opponent controls; Xyz Summon 1 "Curse of the Lamp" from your Extra Deck to your opponent's side of the field using that target as Xyz Material (if the target is an Xyz Monster, all Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on the new card). Sora1499
Well hello there my reviewing buddy. Great work as always. 1. "Curse of the Jar" and "Curse of the Vial" sound silly. "Curse of the Lamp" also reference the djinn (genies) of Arabic culture: this just happens to be a particularly evil one. 2. Using this on any monster would kinda detract from the point I suppose. Eeeeeeh, I *could* do that, but then the card turns into a lock for all monsters and I dunno if I wanna do that. So thanks, but no thanks. Also, I'm gonna force the card to Xyz the new Curse of the Lamp in Defense Position so that you can't just crash two of these guys and be done with the matter.Update: Edited.
