If a monster battles this card: Flip a Coin; If Heads negate the attack and destroy the monster. When this monster is Summoned: Place 3 Mental Counters on this card. While this card has a Mental Counter on it: It cannot be destroyed by battle, be in defense position, and is unaffected by Spell and monster effects (Excluding the effects of "Mindflayer" cards). When this monster Battles: Remove 1 Mental Counter from this card. [/spoiler] Might add a clause that it has to be in Atk position to balance it out. Though, the amount of damage you take for doing so is immense, so it hardly matters. It would more so be annoying for a turn before maybe going into an Xyz. It being unaffected by S/T is odd and seemingly out of place, and the fact this thing can be Summoned in Defense Position then just stall FOREVER needs to be addressed (because it'd be horrible for the game to have a card that requires 5 monsters to attack before it dies). 4 Counters is a lot, also, so perhaps 2/3 would be better. Mind flayers are very powerful Psionics and there is one Psionic skill that this ones ability is based around(albite changed). Auto hypnosis At the same time, Mindflayers can be powerful wizards. So I essentially mixed magical wards with auto hypnosis to get the effect. Now the destroys any monster it battles with comes from Mindflayers brain eating habits. I can easily though change it to be a coin flip. You bring up a good point about the Xyz's and as I dont really have any plans to make this Archtype Xyz or Synchro based I'll add a clause to prevent both. In addition I'll make it so you only take half the damage in battle while a mental counter is on it but at the same time make it so it cant be put into def position while it has one on it. That with the coin flip would surely help balance. As for the Xyz/Synchro, it didn't matter, I was more so listing some options for it.
