A Superhero Table-Top RPG

Hi everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!) I've had this stored away for a few years now, never really got around to polishing it. Sat down with a friend tonight, and we cleaned up the mechanics and the overall format, and added three new powers on top of my original seven. This is by NO means complete, but a very, VERY good start I think. We already have a power expansion planned, which I'll update this thread with once we get a chance to work on it. BUt here you are, I present to you:

My home-made Superhero RPG. It's like D&D, with the fat trimmed. Enjoy.

INteresting thought came to mind. Right now, Powersets look like this:

Atomic

Players with the Atomic powerset ooze with radiation. They are based on Sturdiness and Focus. Their abilities rely on using various poisons and de-buffs against the enemy, applied with ranged attacks. Players with the Atomic powerset gain +2 to Sturdiness and Focus, but -2 to Speed. This powerset is limited to characters that are Normal or Giant size.

Toxic Spit: Does 1d6 damage, 5% chance to melt a piece of armor. Maximum 50ft range Build-Up of 1

Irradiate: Targets within 20ft of caster take 1d6 damage. 15% chance to melt a piece of armor. Build-Up of 3

Acid Spray: Spits acid in a 15ft cone. Anyone inside the cone takes 1d6 damage. 10% chance to melt a piece of armor. Build-Up of 2

What if I made that "Melt" a passive ability -MOBA style-, and upgraded them to four abilities? The problem then though would be that the four abilities would just do straight damage. Any ideas?

....why is Bluff based on Sturdiness? O.o

Indeed, wouldn't it be based on Charisma or some kind of Intelligence ability.
Sturdiness determines your character’s resilience and health
I don't really see how that works in with Bluff.

Holy Jeebus, I didn't even realize people were commenting.

@Thorgrimz: Fire, Thunder, Atomic, Void off the top of my head, I think there's other if I go back and look.

@Spike and Sasha: Since we didn't have an actual Charisma stat on the list, we had to BS a lot of crap. Think of it like "I dare you to prove I'm lying". We jsut needed some skill variation between them, cause they were all turning up as Power-based.

 • 4 weeks later...

WHAM! Getting in before a month goes by (from the previous post). Not sure when the last time anyone took a look at this was, but some substantial progress was made. I still need some help finishing up though, and possibly starting in on the expansions, as my helper has been dealing with some real-life stuff. Otherwise, I'd be willing to try and set up something over roll20 with this
