Zacktheflash96
Though this card will be a part of an archetype i am currently finishing off, it can work on its own. Original Effect 2 Level 6 Monsters When a monster is tributed, put 2 sacrificial counters on this card. If this face-up monster would be destroyed, you may remove all sacrificial counters from this monster instead. When a sacrificial counter(s) is removed from this card, your opponent sends cards equal to the amount removed x3 from the top of their deck to the graveyard. You can only activate this effect once while this card is face up on the field. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 monster on your opponent controls, tribute it. Therrion
I don't believe you know, but Quetzal is a very beautiful bird, not a religion, tribe, or civilization. The Quetzalcoatl is Mayan/Aztec (or at the very least I know they have a variant of it) deity meaning Feathered Serpent (I believe, if I remember correctly). It wasn't just some cool name applied to the picture by default when you saved with the name provided. Just thought you should know. However, the picture is breathtaking. Now for the card... I imagine 2 Level 6 monsters are needed, however you didn't specify that. Specify it. That last effect is NOT okay. The card sounded amazing and original in all aspects until then. That is just, no. You get a +1 AND 2 counters, which will later threaten 6 cards from your opponent's Deck, which is a pretty darn high number. Perhaps Summon a token and allow another Normal Summon. Plus, "Tribute" would get weird when applied to your opponent's cards, as Tributing is usually strictly your own cards, but it is easily understood regardless. Amazing idea, just play around with the last effect in my opinion.
Delibirb
Agreed with Therrion, that x3 bit is way OP. Maybe just 1 sacrifical token, but at the least have it be the same number of counters removed, or even 1 more/less. Other than that I think it works fairly well, and I look forward to seeing the cards it will be working with. :)
Therrion
The way he gets counters, the number he gets, and the mill are all fine aspects. Very strong and rewarding. Keep in mind this is a Level 6 boss that relies on further outside support through a usual -1 process. Just the fact he can get rid of ANY card for free AND get counters to boot is too much. I do know this, but Quetzal is the name i decided to dub the archetype. The other cards are all in a sort of Aztec style, and i went out and got some names for different animals, birds etc in Nahuatl so it kind of made sense to have Quetzalcoatl as a boss. Anyway.. Hey guys, thanks for the feedback it is much appreciated. I've added the "2 level 6 Monsters" (can't believe i forgot that tbh). Regarding the effect, i guess i should explain the archetype a bit more. The idea is to have mill as a win condition while keeping it in moderation and Quetzalcoatl would be a big finisher. A few of the creatures have effects that tribute the opponents monsters during battle if their ATK is higher than the monster they battles DEF, and then milling their deck for 2 or 3. Though the battle phase is ended if one of these effects is activated to prevent mass mill and promote a mill-over-time strategy. I've reworked the effect a bit in the hopes its made the card a little more balanced. :)
