.Rai
Obviously had to read over this twice, because I don't understand sarcasm even when its presented on a platter to me. Obviously. Hilarious list and responses, but a lot of the points are totally true (I mean, every TCG's design can be traced back to MtG anyway).nothing wrong with the keyword system, but to insist that being forced to memorize 30+ terms that pop up on cards undefined is easier than learning PSCT is a lie. theyre roughly equivalent, for different reasons.Note the very helpful reminder text in entry-level sets. MTG Players are just lazy twats who can't be bothered to read card effects. Also, 100 reasons? That's called saturation. Legend Zero
Can we all mostly agree that Hex is going to hopefully be better than both? And that Vanguard is a better casual game. /BlueMoon
The Hounds Of Anubis
HEX is just a purely electronic version of MTG, essentially, though.
.Rai
It's pretty hard to beat MtG, as it did essentially set the guidelines of making a TCG. HEX is virtually the same game as MtG, but strictly digital (so there are a couple of things that you can implement that require difficult calculations etc.). Overall, HEX is decent, but it lacks the depth MtG has built over years of being active.I hear MtG commonly quoted in game design articles as a prime example of various facets of design; Yu-Gi-Oh! unfortunately less so. It's a shame, because YGO does have a design niche that is more original within the TCG genre, which isn't utilised very well.
Legend Zero
I don't see how Hex being an electronic only, which gives it the benefits of more various ways to design cards (among other things), 'clone' makes my point of it being better wrong. The Hounds Of Anubis
Because a lot of people, myself included, prefer a more social aspect to a card game. There's also a distinct difference between irl tournaments and online ones.Of course, to casual players, the latter is irrelevant.
