Fortify the Fortress!

I got bored and thought of a few concepts recently, one which is kinda complex, and one I'm not sure is too different from anything else anyone's created(Fortresses). The object of this strategy is fortifying the "Fortress" (Continuous Trap Card). Basically the Fortress protects your monsters(except from alternative removal) and your life points from battle damage at the price of Fortitude Counters. The monsters provide 2+ counters per turn(1 auto-generated from the fortress, and 1 gen'd by its summon). Each different "Fortress" CT can manipulate the Counters in a different way aside from the regular defense.

 

Cliff Note Version: Generate Counters> extra Summons=more counters Counters=Advantage Continued advantage=Win(eventually)

 

* Currently only creating Main Deck monsters.

 

WORKS WELL WITH: Cat of Ill Omens

 

WEAKNESSES: S/T removal, varied eff negation, Heat Wave, Banishment.

[Spoiler=Lore]When this card is activated you can activate 1 Continuous Trap Card from your graveyard(it does not need to be Set); its effect(s) become "If a monster you control would be destroyed and/or if you would receive battle damage: you can destroy this card instead." When you Summon a "Forte" or "Fortress" monster(s): place 1 Fortitude Counter on this card. If a monster you control would be destroyed and/or if you would receive battle damage: you can destroy this card OR remove 1 Fortitude Counter from this card instead. During either player's Main Phase 1 you can remove 4 Fortitude Counters from the field, if you do: Reduce any damage inflicted this turn to 0; Until the End Phase, monsters cannot be destroyed by monsters(by effect or by battle).[/Spoiler]

[Spoiler=Lore]If a "Fortress" Continuous Trap Card(except "Wicked Fortress") is destroyed and sent to the graveyard you can activate this card from your hand or graveyard(you do not Set this card); place 1 Fortitude Counter on this card. When you Summon a "Forte" or "Fortress" monster(s): place 1 Fortitude Counter on this card.  If a monster you control would be destroyed and/or if you would receive battle damage: you can destroy this card OR remove 1 Fortitude Counter from this card instead. At the start of either player's Battle Phase you can remove 3 or more Fortitude Counters from the field, if you do: your monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF for each Counter removed in this way until the End Phase.[/Spoiler]

[Spoiler=Lore]When this monster is Normal Summoned you can target 1 Continuous Trap Card on the field; place 3 Fortitude Counters on it. When you Summon this monster: you can Set 1 "Fortress" Continuous Trap Card from your hand or graveyard(it cannot be activated this turn). At the start of your Battle Phase you can remove 4 Fortitude Counters from the field to negate the effect of 1 face-up monster on the field; destroy it. During each of your End Phases: place 1 Fortitude Counter on each of your "Fortress" Continuous Trap Cards for each "Fort" and "Fortress" monster you control.[/Spoiler]

The effects of your "Fortress" Continuous Trap Cards cannot be negated. At the start of your Battle Phase you can remove 5 Fortitude Counters from the field, if you do, negate the effects of all Spell& Trap Cards except "Fortress" Continuous Trap Cards until the end of the Battle Phase. During each of your End Phases: gain 200 Life Points for each Fortitude Counter on each of your "Fortress" Continuous Trap Cards.[/Spoiler]

 

The Regular Monsters

When you Summon this monster you can remove a number of Fortitude Counters from the field equal to the level of 1 "Forte" or "Fortress" monster in your hand to Normal Summon that monster immediately in addition to your Normal Summon or Set(this effect of a "Forte" or "Fortress" monster can only be activated once per turn). You can tribute this face-up monster and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls to place 1 Fortitude Counter on 1 "Fortress" Continuous Trap Card on the field.[/Spoiler]

When you Summon this monster you can remove a number of Fortitude Counters from the field equal to the level of 1 "Forte" or "Fortress" monster in your hand to Normal Summon that monster immediately in addition to your Normal Summon or Set(this effect of a "Forte" or "Fortress" monster can only be activated once per turn). While this card is face-up on the field: your Continuous Trap Cards cannot be destroyed except by their own effects. If this card is destroyed as a result of battle: add 1 Level 4 or lower "Forte" or "Fortress" monster from your deck to your hand(except "Beau le Bleu, the Forte Matron").[/Spoiler]

You can remove 4 Fortitude Counters from the field to destroy 1 monster on the field, if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK of that monster. If this monster is destroyed by a card effect: select 2 Level 5 or lower "Forte" or "Fortress" monsters in your deck; add 1 to your hand then place the other on top of your deck.[/Spoiler]

When you Summon this monster you can remove a number of Fortitude Counters from the field equal to the level of 1 "Forte" or "Fortress" monster in your hand to Normal Summon that monster immediately in addition to your Normal Summon or Set(this effect of a "Forte" or "Fortress" monster can only be activated once per turn). At the start of the Battle Phase you can remove 3 Fortitude Counters from the field to target 1 other non-Xyz monster you control: it can attack your opponent directly this turn; reduce any damage inflicted in this way by the Level of the attacking monster x150.[/Spoiler]
