Raviel the Phantom
This is a set of cards that parody the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the Book of Revelations. The type focuses on the four horsemen and the devastation that they bring. Also, as a joke for Halloween, I threw in the Headless Horsemen. Please share your thoughts. Monster Cards This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "The Broken Seal". This card can attack twice during a single Battle Phase. If this card attacks a monster in defense position, inflict piercing damage. This card cannot attack directly. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effects of "The Fourth Seal". The control of this card cannot change. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. At the start of Damage Step, if this card attacks a monster, destroy that monster. When this card destroys a monster by battle, inflict 100 damage to your opponent's Life Points for every monster in the Graveyard(s). This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effects of "The Third Seal". The control of this card cannot change. Up to twice per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, each face-up monster your opponent controls loses 100 ATK for each card in your hand. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effects of "The First Seal". The control of this card cannot change. This card cannot be destroyed by opponent's card effects. During your End Phase, select 1 card on the field, destroy that target. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effects of "The Second Seal". The control of this card cannot change. Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects. The number of times this card can attack during a single Battle Phase is equal to the number of Spell/Trap cards your opponent controls. Spell Cards Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by opponent's card effects. When this card is activated, increase/decrease both players' Life Points so that they both equal 8000 points. During your End Phase, increase both players' Life Points by 1000 points. This card can only be activated if "Gate of Revelation" is on the field. You cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck for the rest of the Duel. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Plague" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. This card can only be activated if "Gate of Revelation" is on the field. You cannot Summon any monster with 2000 ATK or more, except for monster(s) with "The End Rider" in their name. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Warlord" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. This card can only be activated if "Gate of Revelation" is on the field. You cannot activate Spell/Trap cards during either player's Battle Phase for the remainder of the Duel. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Misery". This card can only be activated if "Gate of Revelation" is on the field. You cannot add cards to your hand, except by drawing them for the rest of the Duel. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Grim" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. Equip only to "The End Rider: Warlord". The equipped monster gains the following effect: Once per turn, you can tribute 1 monster you control. This card gains ATK equal to ATK of the monster used for this effect until the End Phase of this turn. Equip only to "The End Rider: Plague". The equipped monster gains the following effect: When this card destroys a monster by battle, your opponent must discard cards from the top of their deck to the Graveyard equal to the level of the destroyed monster. Equip only to "The End Rider: Warlord". The equipped monster gains the following effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent must pay 300 Life Points to activate a Spell/Trap card. Equip only to "The End Rider: Grim". The equipped monster gains the following effect: Once per turn, you can banish 1 monster from the Graveyard. Special Summon as many "Devilish Tokens" Token(s) (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 5/ATK ???/DEF ???) on your side of the field. Its ATK and DEF are equal to the ATK and DEF of the banished monster. Destiny Bound
Generally: I think this is quite a nice set, but I think it would have little actual impact on the game. The reason for this is the requirement of having 2 different specific spell cards activated successfully to summon any of the four main riders ("Gate of Revelation" and the appropriate "Seal"), meaning that they are in fact slower than Ritual Monsters. Despite this, I do like the over-all theme and flavour of the cards; I have been thinking for some time that the Horsemen of the Apocalypse would make very good cards. Specifically: One major error I found was in at least one of "The End Rider: Cataclysm" and "The Cursed Seal". The problem is a matter of corelation; in the effect of "The End Rider: Cataclysm" it states that: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "The Broken Seal". This card can attack twice during a single Battle Phase. If this card attacks a monster in defense position, inflict piercing damage. This card cannot attack directly. Despite this, "The Cursed Seal" states: This card can only be activated if a "The End Rider" is destroyed by an opponent's card effect. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Cataclysm" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. There are two ways to deal with this problem; You can change the name of "The Cursed Seal" to "The Broken Seal" - this is the easiest way. The second, perhaps more inventive way to solve the problem would be to make a second "The Broken Seal" card, with different conditions, then change the effect of "The Cursed Seal" to: This card can only be activated if a "The End Rider" is destroyed by an opponent's card effect. Special Summon 1 "The End Rider: Cataclysm" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard, ignoring summoning conditions. I hope this helps! :D
Raviel the Phantom
Thanks for the advice. I forgot to change "The Broken Seal" to "The Cursed Seal" on the card, that was my mistake.
