Just have to come up with my own version of Pokemon cards after seeing so many people's work on this series!

I welcome and will appreciate all comments  :)

Will update sporadically

No promise of ever finishing :(
- Stay relevant to the pokemon game in name, attribute, level, and type.

- Effects based on (signature) move/ability, evolution method, pokedex entry, or plausible unofficial relations.

- Effects that are Yu-Gi-Oh-like: better UP than OP, better short/simple effect than long/complicated effect, etc...

- As little type effectiveness and math as possible!

- Pokemon evolution embedded in the existing mechanism only (i.e. No custom monster card type or subtype).

- Legible lore! (this one is very hard but I'll try my best)

- The three Kanto starters. It just so happens that each family affects a number: Bulbasaur family with Life Points, Charmander family with ATK, and Squirtle family with DEF. And the final evolutions have the ability to "undo" those changes.

- For the Charmander family, there seems to be special no signature move/ability associated with them, not even a far-fetched one. However, Charmeleon and Charizard are famous for their bellicose temper as in the anime and my impression, so I thought basing effect of the move Rage is somewhat reasonable.

- The second effect of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise uses the same ruling as Light and Darkness Dragon.

- A tribute to the summon condition of Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, which is still the hardest OCG/TCG monster to summon after all these years.

- Butterfree and Beedrill are surprisingly weak in term of stat...so they remain Level 4 even as the final evolution stage.

- Fixed Butterfree's sprite for Gamefreak. Now the Caterpie evolution line looks more natural :)

- Welcome the first two Normal Monster of this series, which are the most commonly encountered (Normal-Type) monster throughout Gen 1.
- Pokemon that evolves through trading will have a hard time evolving in the Yugioh world...

Nice how you explained your reasoning for certain effects etc. Some of those images are from the actual cards right? But yeah they're nice. Don't know if "release" will sit well with some people, like, does it mean send to graveyard? Banish? I know it's trying to fit in with the whole pokémon theme, but that might be better as banish or something. For example: "This card can only be special summoned by banishing 1 "Charmander The Lizard Monster" during your standby phase." I'm no guru so correct me if I'm wrong in correcting here XD But yeah, anticipating more :) 8.5/10

Your comments are very much appreciated. :)  I don't consider myself guru either, just having a passion to image and create yugioh. XD

Some of those images are from the actual cards right? But yeah they're nice.

It's hard to find images that have consistent art style for ALL pokemons, so I resort to use the images from Pokemon TCG. They are not the coolest images out there, but I value consistency more. (Originally I just want to do written card, but decided that a Yugioh card without the image of the card itself is just not going to draw anyone's attention...)

Don't know if "release" will sit well with some people, like, does it mean send to graveyard? Banish? I understand your point, and I believe everyone making Pokemon into Yugioh has considered this problem too. By that logic I guess the most suitable way of representing Pokemon evolution would be "overlay", with the mechanic that any card/effect that targets the original monster are now targeting the new monster. But new game mechanic is what I am trying very hard to avoid.

Now, I definitely see the difference between "releasing" and "sending to graveyard". The LV monsters used the latter method. I personally like releasing more because the word (which used to be "tributing") implies a transfer of energy or some sort, but that's just personal preference. There are some subtleties when it comes to ruling, but we don't need to get that deep...

You finaly decided to go back on this, congrats, cards look balanced so far and nice way on using same style pics for those cards. Best of luck on finishing this. Also why skip some cards :I

Obviously because I haven't come up with appropriate effects for them xD
