Biblical-based cards

Destiny Bound

Recommended Posts

I was going to make a Greek Gods deck, but when I saw how many there were, I decided to change tack. Here are five "biblical" cards. They do not stick to the character of these people as described in any variation of the bible. They are partially intended to allow for more effective play of "DIVINE" attribute cards, but if I were to make an archetype to support those, it would not be this one. Now, I hope you enjoy the cards. I want constructive criticism on the cards and their relations to the characters, as well as any glaringly obvious OCG checks (though preferably not too nit-picky). Finally, if anyone thinks they're any good then compliments would be appreciated! So here they are:
Once per duel, when this card declares an attack, you can add 1 "Heavens" card from your Deck to your Hand. As long as you control a DIVINE "Heavens" monster (except "Lucifer, Curse of the Heavens"); LIGHT monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF.

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Can only be Special Summoned by tributing 3 Fairy-type monsters you control. Once per turn, you can add 1 "Heavens" card OR 1 LIGHT monster from your Deck to your Hand, and if you do, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. If this card would be destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or by card effect); tribute 1 LIGHT monster you control instead.

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Can only be Special Summoned by tributing 3 or more Fairy-type monsters you control; this card's original ATK becomes equal to the number of monsters tributed for this effect x 1000. When this card destroys a monster by battle; you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT monster from your Hand or Graveyard. If this card would be destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or by card effect); tribute 1 LIGHT monster you control instead.

When this card is activated; add 1 "Heavens" card from your Deck to your Hand, except "Exodus of the Servant of the Heavens"; if you do not, destroy this card. If a DIVINE monster or "Heavens" monster you control would be destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or by card effect); you can destroy this card instead.

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Can only be Special Summoned by tributing 3 Fiend-type monsters OR 1 DIVINE "Heavens" monster you control. All DIVINE monsters on the field lose 1000 ATK, except "Lucifer, Curse of the Heavens". This card inflicts piercing damage. If this card would be destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or by card effect); tribute 1 DARK monster you control instead.
Lucifer is way too easy to summon for a 4000 ATK beater, 1 heavens divine monster? Either increase the cost, or reduce its ATK. Other than that, the other cards look well-balanced.

You say that, but it's the basically the same cost as the other 2x 4000 ATK beaters, and you don't seem to complain about them... All the DIVINE "Heavens" monsters needs 3 tributes of a type related to their general feel (Fairies for the Angels, Fiends for the Demon). Lucifer also has the ability to be summoned by tributing one of the others because of him being a fallen angel. So in short, however you play Lucifer, he needs at least 3 tributes going into him; just the same as the other two.

I cannot see, therefore, any reason that Lucifer should be dropped if the other two cannot, unless you didn't realise that Moses (the only one that doesn't need 3 tributes) is LIGHT, not DIVINE.

So for this reason, before I make any changes, please elaborate as to whether you say that because you didn't realise that the DIVINE "Heavens" monsters he could use all had the same (basic) cost as his alternate cost, or that you had come up with some strategy I haven't forseen?

(NOTE: I do realise that the obvious way to use Lucifer's second cost would be to take control of an enemies Gabriel or Micheal, but this way intended, so if you knew you were likely to face Heavens, you could side-deck a Lucifer and a control card and there by counter some of their best combos... kinda like side-decking Chaos Hunter if you knew your opponent was playing Blackwing Twilight.)
