loungegecko
I really like the Traptrix archetype, which gives support for some good trap cards that date back since the beginning of the game. I wanted to try doing something with Spell cards, and this is what I came up with. Much of the art is placeholding until I can get something nicer looking. Hippopotamus of Greed Earth/Rock - LV 2 - 200/200 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Draw 2 cards. Hippopotamus of Duality Earth/Rock - LV2 - 300/100 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Reveal the top 3 cards of your deck. Your opponent picks one of them and adds it to your hand. Return the other two to your deck, and then shuffle your deck. Hippopotamus of Benevolence Earth/Rock - Lv2 - 200/100 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Return two cards from your graveyard to your deck. Hippopotamus of Dichotomy Earth/Rock - Lv2 - 300/200 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Target 3 cards in your graveyard that include 1 "Hippopot" monster and 1 "Pot" Normal Spell. Shuffle them into your deck, then draw 2 cards. Hippopotamus of Generosity Earth/Rock - Lv2 - 200/0 - Common Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Return two cards from your hand to your deck. Hippopottery Spell - Continuous - Ultimate Rare You may not activate this card if there are any "Forbidden One" cards in your hand or deck. When a "Hippopot" monster is added to your hand (by any means), you may instantly Normal Summon it. While there is a "Pot" Normal Spell in your Graveyard: Hippopot. monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle once per turn, and you take no battle damage from battles involving them. This is treated as a "Pot" Normal Spell while in the deck or graveyard. Hippopotamus of Avarice Water/Beast-Warrior - XYZ Rank 2 - 1500/300 - Ultimate Rare 2 Level 2 ROCK Monsters When this card is XYZ summoned: Return 5 "Pot" normal spells from your graveyard to your deck, then draw 2 cards. While you control a "Hippopot" monster, this card may attack directly. If this card would be destroyed, you may detach an XYZ material instead. When this card is destroyed, you may banish 2 "Pot" Normal Spells from your grave. Return it to the extra deck. Thoughts and feedback appreciated. Okay somehow the formatting got messed up, I'm fixing it
goddamnit names are a pain
I really like the Traptrix archetype, which gives support for some good trap cards that date back since the beginning of the game. I wanted to try doing something with Spell cards, and this is what I came up with. Much of the art is placeholding until I can get something nicer looking. Hippopotamus of Greed Earth/Rock - LV 2 - 200/200 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Draw 2 cards. Very nicely done. Maybe a bit strong, but the cards in this deck look like they need something like this. I like how the opponent chooses them. Hippopotamus of Benevolence Earth/Rock - Lv2 - 200/100 - Rare Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Return two cards from your graveyard to your deck. Nothing wrong here. Add a semicolon inbetween graveyard and target instead if a period. Hippopotamus of Generosity Earth/Rock - Lv2 - 200/0 - Common Effect: When this monster is Normal Summoned, you may send one "Pot" Normal Spell Card from your deck to the graveyard. Return two cards from your hand to your deck. I'd make it "up to 2." Hippopottery Spell - Continuous - Ultimate Rare You may not activate this card if there are any "Forbidden One" cards in your hand or deck. You may not activate this card if there are any "Forbidden One" cards in your hand or deck. Why not? I think you should change the effect to be a "gain an additional normal summon" for Hippopots; the way it is now is confusing. Like, say you have to control another hippopot to gain another summon. XYZ should be Xyz. Summoned is capitalized. Xyz Material is capitalized. I think this guy needs a better attack. 2000? And it should be "another" Hippopot Monster. Finally, make it "you can return 5 "Pot" cards to your deck. All and all, I really like what you did here. However, I would recommend ATK/DEF boosts. DEF for most, ATK for a few. 800 ATK being a high (I guess) and 1900 DEF (for a high)? Not sure. Nice work. Mugendramon
These cards are dumb and this thread will be locked in consequence. The name scheme is clever but by god is activating pot of greed by milling duality from the deck a terrible idea.
