[align=center]Okay, so I finished these up to submit for sythcaris's "600 Point / New Way to Play Contest" , but I also wanted to make a post with them to see what everyone else thought of them. Below is most of the post from the contest thread, because I explained it pretty well there. So, please read, comment, and suggest any improvements you think I should make. Also, please vote in the poll, or just say in your comment whether you think I should make more of these, or just quit now.

Anyway, they are regular monsters, unless you manage to summon them in a S/T zone. If that happens, they gain the effect of a spell card (hence the name "Spell Monsters").

Their names are derivations of the spell cards whose effect they share, I figured then it'd be easy to remember what they did.

So, without further ado, here they are:

Now, you may be wondering, "How in the world am I going to summon any of them in a S/T zone?" Well, here's your answer. The 2 cards below make it possible. One of them makes all your S/T zones also monster zones, so if you summon a monster in the lower row of monster zones, it's also a S/T zone and you can activate their effects. The other makes all your monster zones also S/T zones, so you can summon them where they normally go and still activate their effects.

Here are the special cards. I made them awhile ago, but just recently thought of this idea to really put them to good use:

There you have my new way to play monsters.

\/****These pics are not mine, I do not own them, I simply cropped them. If the owner wishes for theirs to be removed, PM me and I will remove it until a supplemental pic can be found.****\/

minor ocg errors, but those are the ones that like double the text so no worries.

i can see some serious overpowerd'ness with this set, 10 monster zones? omg! lol.... granted you can only have 1 normal summon per turn, still... the right combo and BOOM! youve got a field that even a penultimate Dark Tyranno couldnt clear.....

7/10... +2 for mild originality

i kinda agree with icyblue the spell and even the trap cards are i bit over powered. both could and probably would be used in other decks imagine a stall burn with the trap or a six samurai with the spell, that would be a bit brutle. now i will suggest a few things, first off you could make it so they both count as feild spells so they can be gotten rid of by other feild spells, in addition you could make it so they work for both players to ballence it out so its not COMPLETLY one sided, you could do that or make it so the monsters can sumon themselves into the spell trap zone, you could make it so it counts as the summon but they work like a spell some would be permanent some would be temperary it might make them a bit more desirable

to put it finnaly i would say that is an interesting idea and could be very decent if worked correctly. it is pretty original i would say 7/10 is a good rating

Thanks for the advice icyblue. I think I'll take out the part about having 10 monster zones.

And avariademon, I purposely made the spell and trap so that they wouldn't be field cards. Also, I didn't want the monsters to be able to summon themselves in the S/T Zones since then you could always use their effects. I figured they'd be more balanced if they required an outside combo to make their effects work (especially the greed one, since pot of greed is forbidden, or at least limited). I will alter the effects of the spell and trap to accomodate some of your suggestions and repost them when I finish them.

I'm glad you like them, though ^_^

BUMP:

Okay, I edited Monstevius and Trasperius to include clauses that both players are affected and that only one of each kind of card (monster or spell/trap) can be in each column, thus guaranteeing a continued max of 5 monsters and 5 spell/traps.

Overused pics, and the idea isn't new. Hmm... oh yeah, ever hear of a little thing called Crystal Beasts? Plus, they were overpowered. Not to mention they don't specify that they can be summoned into a spell/trap zone, therefore they cannot, making them absolutely useless. I gtg now, bell's gonna ring.

6/10

The originality is crazy..NOT

They are good but have already made by many people ' date=' including DJ-OSIRIS

8/10 though

Oh? I don't remember seeing any cards like this in Dj's various posts. Perhaps I simply missed them. Could you kindly point me to a thread? I'd absolutely hate it if I copied anyone.

Crystal Beasts are not monsters when they are in a S/T zone, whereas these are still monsters while having a one-time spell effect. And, the reason they don't specify that they can be summoned in a S/T zone is because the support spell and trap cards posted right below them allow them to be summoned that way. I didn't want the monsters to have extremely long, complicated effects when I could simply make a spell and a trap that said the whole effect once in simple terms.

Thank you both for your ratings ^_^

CB aint overpowered. If they were theyd all be banned. You need to read the cards like browarod says. Just because it doesnt say it can go into the Spell and Trap Card Zone dont mean it cant be placed there.

So what if theyre slighty copied, its bound to happen, and DJ himself has been in instances where he may have come up with an idea but the effect was already done, but no one ever jumped down his throat about it. The whole Monster/ Spell idea is old anyways and Im sure that there are real cards with these types of effect so all Monster Spell Card variations whether it be dual monsters that DJ did or CB knock offs or anything that makes a Monster turn into a Spell has derived from a real Yugioh card already so shut up D-wads!

And browarod, DJ removed alot of his old cards from their original threads so you probably wont get people backing it up unless DJ himself has a copy stored on his comp or remakes it to prove a point of making it. In that case itll just be spiteful.

Oh, ok. I only wish you'd talk a little nicer to other people. I really don't want my thread to turn into a shout fest. It doesn't really bother me that they are "jumping down my throat", that's just what people do. I just try to ignore that part and concentrate on the fact that they rated them (which you didn't do, by the way :P).

P.S. I made a post on your Pepper thread asking to make a couple cards.

It is true that DJ made cards like this, but they weren't exactly like this. Your thinking of his split monsters [literally half spell, half monster] but these are different. These are like Crystal Beasts with a twist. All in all...I'm sorta confused. Also, you don't specify how you summon them to the spell and trap card zone, so what, can you just place them there are what? Confuzzled...Also I have no idea how to rate these [like I like them, but I don't at the same time, you know?]. So my rating will be a 7 [+ or - 3] / 10

Did you look at the Spell and Trap card? Those explain how you can summon these monsters in S/T zones. 7/10 is pretty good, I just hope it doesn't go down once you understand the concept fully :P

Still' date=' + or - 7 / 10...can go in either way lol...I'm sorta tired, so I'll see if I understand them better when I'm more awake.

Haha, ok. If you need further explanation than what's on the threads, feel free to chat me up on IM as that would be easier than PMs or posts.

6.345/10

First card's pic was used by me so you lose 0.05 XD

Oh, I'm sorry. It was the first good pic I found that fit the theme of the card. I'll look for others and change it if I find a decent one. Thanks for the rating, though ^_^
