Various Old Cards

賢狼ホロ

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I've probably not been to the forums in a couple of years (the year printing on my cards tells me that I was most active around 2010). It's not like I was someone famous back then, so I'm pretty sure no one remembers me either way.

Lately I've been watching a lot of Heathstone streams and got the spark back for card games, so I might return to the site on a regular basis, who knows.

Anyway, today I thought I'd "graduate" my old cards to start anew.
Most of these cards have never been posted before, so please keep in mind that even though they're designed for the Realistic session there might be severly overpowered cards.
In that case please provide guidance to improving them.
If there is a card that is just utterly boring or overpowered beyond repair, just skip it.
Also, most of the OCG is old, and I could probably improve it but I only want to do it to cards I'm actually keeping for the future.

Basically what I'm asking is:
Is anything worth saving?

Without further ado:
The cards I personally like the most, don't be too harsh please. :'(
Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. During your Battle Phase: you can Special Summon this card from your hand. The maximum Battle Damage this card can inflict is 1000. During the end of your Battle Phase: this card returns to your hand.

I really like the thought of having a monster teleporting in to your aid and then disappear again. I really have no idea if this is too strong, so I put a max 1000 damage limit on it. As they are only there for the Battle Phase you cannot use it to summon something else. Still, you could wipe almost any three level 4 monsters if you have three of these in your hand. Even if limited, too good?

Tribute 1 "Monarch" card you control: Special Summon 1 "Monarch" card from your hand. This Summon is treated as a Tribute Summon.

I'm an old Macro Monarch player and was constantly amazed by the lack of support for the Monarch. It seems like while I've been away from YuGiOh there have come some rather nice support, but now Macro is dead. Aw. : /

gBYzDLU.jpg

If this card destroys a monster by battle: banish it and inflict damage to your opponent equal to level of that monster x200.

Simple card, but I do like simple but nice effects and I do like Banishing stuff. Also anime girls are instant win. A card to play alongside the two other Banishers?

I had this idea of creating a deck consisting only of level 4 Spellcasters and centered around Spell Cards. If they were to destroy a set card, they would gain a bonus if the destroyed card was a Spell Card and not Trap or Monster Card. It all ended with me creating one of the most overpowered card in the history of YuGiOh, which is why I'll show it first, because the entire deck was supposed to be centered around that one.

*Note: Most, if not all, cards in this set are very overpowered, proceed on own risk.
crc2gol.jpg

Monster Cards and Trap Cards are also treated as Spell Cards.

Yes. Even I cannot believe how I could not think this was overpowered. MST becomes a Quick-Play monster removal. Worst of all: no cost! Still, I really like the idea of this card, so if anyone has an idea for a cost that would bring this card away from the banlist without making it unplayable, I'm all ears. : D
Now for the monsters, I think you can see why Card Alchemy was designed for them.
Once per turn, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard. If it was a Spell Card you can return 1 card your opponent controls to its owner's hand.

So basically a chance to have a CED every turn. Or a recyclable Raiza Lite...

36whBSc.jpg

Once per turn, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard. If it was a Spell Card you can remove from play 1 Monster Card in your opponents Graveyard and inflict damage equal to its level x100.

Graveyard removal is always good, right?

oQWn7eD.jpg

Once per turn, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard. If it was a Spell Card your opponent discards 1 card.

And a recyclable Thestalos Lite...

1yFesbT.jpg

Once per turn, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard. If it was a Spell Card you can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.

And lastly a recyclable Mobius Lite.
I had plans for a Earth and Dark mage as well, but never got around to make them.
Just to be able to fill your deck with spells for this deck, I made a lot of random Spell Cards, maybe you'll find some of them interesting.
zveWiaD.jpg

Activate only when a card(s) is destroyed. Add 1 of those card(s) to your hand. During your End Phase, if that card is in your hand, discard it.

Oh why not! Let's MST and steal your Mirror Force! : D

bpWycDJ.jpg

Pay half your Life Points. Skip the current Phase. During your next turn, skip the same Phase.

I guess it just is a win-harder-card, even though it could be used to screw up some end phase effects or let you skip your opponent's battle phase to survive. : /

IrxfXvU.jpg

Select 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field. When that card activates a effect(s) that requiers a cost, double that cost. If this card is destroyed by the effect of your opponent's Spell Card, destroy the selected card.

I really think the effect of doubling the cost is interesting. (1/2 your lifepoints becomes 3/4).

VCzYyxk.jpg

Select 1 Spell Card in your Deck and put it on the top of your Deck.

We have cards that search to the hand, so why not one that searches spell cards to the top of the deck? Works well with the monsters' effects as well.

w8du5jT.jpg

Activate only when a Spellcaster-Type monster you control is selected as a target for an attack or the effect of a Spell Card. Select 1 Spell Card in your Deck, that mentions "Spellcaster-Type monster" in its card text. Remove from play that card and this cards gains the effect(s) of that card until the End Phase.

After seeing this picture, I just had to made a card with this name! I have no idea if this would really work well. My first thought was to allow you to choose any spell card in your deck, but then I realised that would just mean that you have your entire deck in one card, so...

2482Seq.jpg

Select 1 face-up Spellcaster you control. Its ATK becomes 0 until your next turn and cannot be Tributed, or used as a Fusion or Synchro Matierial Monster. Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. If your opponent controls no monsters, you can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card instead.

Regular destruction card...

5nPBotn.jpg

You can activate 1 of the following effects:
● Negate the effect of a Trap Card that would destroy a card(s) you control and return that card to its owner's hand.
● Negate the effect of a Spell Card that would destroy a card(s) you control and return it to its owner's hand. Then, you can destroy 1 card on the field.

Basically a strong counter spell, but it doesn't destroy the card it negates, but keeping with the theme of spell cards, if it was a spell card you negated you get a bonus.

xEblhhP.jpg

During each players next Draw Phase, the player adds a Spell Card from their Deck to their hand instead of Drawing.

Can help your spell card heavy deck, while ensuring your opponent doesn't draw that monster or trap he needs. Still, nowadays people will probably just get Black Hole to their hand. :/

UHOiK8F.jpg

Discard 1 Spellcaster-Type monster. Select 1 Spell Card from you Deck and set it. That card cannot be activated this turn.

Even more Spell Card Spell Card support. One of the few cards I made that actually have a cost, lol.

You know how those D.D. decks screws all other decks over, but how awkward it is to go D.D. vs D.D.?
The M.D. guys counter both Graveyard-based play like a D.D. deck, but also counters other D.D. decks!
4QgNePs.jpg

Your opponent cannot activate effects that removes from play a card(s). Once per turn, if a monster card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Banish it or if a monster is Banished, you can return it to the Graveyard.

With the current wording, I might need to point out that you can only return the card to the Graveyard the moment it is Banished (destroyed etc.)

MTDTNu2.jpg

Once per turn, you can negate the Special Summon of a removed from play card. If this face-up card on the field is removed from play, Special Summon it during the End Phase in face-up Attack Position.

M.D. Survivor can make life hard for D.D. Survivor

wUPgFed.jpg

If this card destroys a monster by battle, after Damage Calculation you can remove from play that monster or return it to the Graveyard. If this face-up on the field is removed from play during the Battle Phase, Special Summon it during the End Phase.

While it can't battle stronger monster and remove them like the D.D. counterparts, maybe still too strong?

After finding some rather awesome picture of a white-haired male facing off with gigantic beasts, I got the idea to make set of different Slayers: level 4 monsters that specialize in killing level 5+ monsters. All monsters are targeted at defeating level 6 monster with 2400 ATK.
The stronger effect they have, the weaker they are while battling lower-leveled monster.
pNpeIXZ.jpg

When this card battles a Level 5 or higher monster, this card gains ATK equal to the level of that monster x200. Your opponent cannot select another Level 4 or lower monster as an attack target with a Level 5 or higher monster.

The vanilla.

GySOnwQ.jpg

When this card battles a Level 5 or higher monster, this card gains ATK equal to the level of the that monster x300. If this card destroys a Level 5 or higher monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the level of the destroyed monster x100.

It's not really him who is burning, but anyway...

bhOtiQq.jpg

During either player's Battle Phase, you can Tribute this card to return 1 Level 5 or higher monster on the field to its owner's hand. When this card battles a Level 5 or higher monster, this card gains ATK equal to the level of the that monster x500.

He used to be a part of the exiled force...

ualNQNO.jpg

When this card battles a Level 5 or higher monster, send 1 level 3 or lower Machine-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the sent card, until the End Phase.

Not a dude anymore, and a completely different effect.

I suddenly had a urge to make a deck based around phoenixies, but as I despise archtype specific cards, they don't have a common name, but are all FIRE Winged Beasts. This means you could play them with classical cards as Fushi no Tori.
The birds all (but 1) have an effect of Special Summoning itself from the Graveyard. But as always, there probably some rather overpowered effects among these cards.
This is so bad I will probably delete it after posting it here.

*WARNING: EXTREMELY BAD MONSTER NAMES
RAGI9VL.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summon from the Graveyard by paying 800 Life Points while there are 4 or more FIRE Winged Beast-type monsters in your Graveyard.

JD super-lite? Could probably change the cost to Banish a card instead.

8hj8xA7.jpg

When this card is destroyed, you can discard any number of Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster and draw cards equal to number discarded.

With most cards having so low ATK, I figured I needed a hard blocker. With card draw. Mmmmm.

OSMHw5K.jpg

You can send this card on the field to the Graveyard to negate the attack of an opponents monster. During the End Phase you activated this effect, Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.

Basically a monster version of Scrapiron Scarecrow, probably too strong as it doesn't have a cost.

6F0FbTC.jpg

Once per turn, during either players' Battle Phase, by removing from play 1 Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you can send 1 Beast-Type FIRE monster from your Deck to your Graveyard.

Another Battle Phase Special Summon, that gives itself fodder if it attacks directly.

W4YtbgV.jpg

While you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is the only monster you control, it gains 500 ATK during the Battle Phase only. This card cannot be Tributed or used as a Syncro Material Monster.

A Phoenix Cyber Dragon perhaps?

07S0W2i.jpg

This card gains ATK equal to any Battle Damage from a battle involving this card. If this card would be destroyed, you can remove from play 1 Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster in your Graveyard instead.

Run it into a Blue-Eyes and you got yourself a 3k ATK level 4 monster.

HFz76HP.jpg

You can discard 1 Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster to negate the effect of a Spell, Trap or Monster card that targets a Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster(s) you control. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, Special Summon it during the End Phase.

This was supposed to be the true phoenix, hence "Truth". Even with it's low ATK, the fact it has no cost and doesn't specify how it leaves the field, probably makes it too strong anyway.

Q9XAjp5.jpg

Once per turn, you can Tribute this card to negate the effect of a Spell or Trap Card that targets a Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster you control. If this card is in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon it after the effect of a Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls resolves.

Spell Negating monster, with the worst name I've ever come up with.

YBZg25F.jpg

FLIP: Send 1 Winged Beast-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. This card cannot be destroyed by battle the turn it was flipped face-up.

Give you fodder and protects you one turn.

hjMdozn.jpg

This card cannot be Special Summoned except by its own effect. If this card is Tribute Summoned, the Tribute must be a Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster. If this card is in your Graveyard, you can discard 1 Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster to Special Summon it. This card can attack twice per battle phase.

The recycability with the double attack is maybe too strong?

pv6SWCH.jpg

Activate only when a Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster you control battles. It gains ATK equal to its level x200 until the End Phase. Increase your Life Points and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Battle Damage from that battle.

This card art is from someone who has a gallery here YCM! I forgot who, please inform me if you know. I figured the birds needed some increased "firepower". (badum *tis*)

YnrwUOk.jpg

Select 1 Winged Beast-Type FIRE monster you control. Send any number of cards with the same name from your Deck to your Graveyard.

Archtype specific foolish if you like.

These range from awful to cool to overpowered...
vLxB1tX.jpg

This card's ATK is equal to the number of monsters on the field x300. This card gains ATK equal to the number of Monster Cards in the Graveyards x100. If this card destroys a monster by battle, you can remove from play all Monster Cards in your Graveyard to have this card attack once again. If you activate this effect, change this card to face-up Defence Position after Damage Calculation. Its Battle Position cannot be changed until to your next turn.

I'm pretty sure I made a Mage Strike Force as well, that had similar effects but of course with Spell Cards.

ZxtWTee.jpg

This Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle with a DARK monster. If this Attack Position card battles a DARK monster: destroy that monster at the end of the Damage Step. This card can attack all your opponents DARK monsters once each. Each time this card attacks: decrease the ATK of this card by 500 after Damage Calculation, until your next turn. If you cannot, this card is destroyed during the End Phase.

You can basically trade lifepoints for any amount of your opponent's Dark monsters. Balanced.

JfPKsTY.jpg

Activate when your opponent activates a Trap Card in response to your declaration of an attack. Negate and destroy that card. The attack becomes a direct attack.

I think this was the third card I ever made on this website, back in 2009. At that time my friends were playing cards like Sakuretsu Armor, Mirror Force and Magical Cylinder, so I think you can guess what frustration created this card. I was amused to find out that there is now a Six Samurais support card with the same name now.

yzmeXlb.jpg

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack: Negate the attack and double the ATK of the attack target monster until the End Phase, also declare an attack with that monster.

This has been posted before, under the title "Attack during your opponent's Battle Phase". Still, interesting concept, but quite the boring card.

1F0XtvI.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This must be Special Summoned by Tribtung 1 face-up monster on the field. If this card leaves the field: Special Summon the monster that was released for the Summon of this card.

This card has also been posted before, I pretty sure some people liked it back then. Notice that you can tribute an opponents monster, but also that it doesn't specify where you special summon the monster from: it is special summoned even if banished or returned to deck or hand.

TfWUy5h.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. If this card is Banished during the start of your Battle Phase: Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. During the end of your Battle Phase: this card is removed from play.

Basically a D.D. version of my Magic Assailant.

ZA5xkao.jpg

If this card is removed from play while not face-up on the field, Special Summon it during the End Phase.

Survivors opposite! How I hated needing to play Surivor in attack position and eat damage from level 6 monsters!

5FAff3K.jpg

If this card is sent from the Deck to the Graveyard, add it to your hand. If this card is sent from the hand to the Graveyard, Special Summon it. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add it to your Deck.

This has also been posted before, and I pretty sure its over the top recyclability was considered overpowered. It tells somewhat how I felt playing against Synchro decks with my Monarch deck.

dOWk8eO.jpg

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack that would make your Life Points 0. Negate the attack and Special Summon 1 "Machina" monster from your Graveyard ignoring Summoning conditions.

Actually my friend who played a Machina deck came up with this card, and I just made it into a card. Has been posted before, and I think people liked it back then.

jnOHUbX.jpg

Activate when you activate another Spell Card. Return your hand to your Deck, then draw 1 card. If it was a Spell Card discard it and the effect of the other Spell Card is applied again. Repeat this effect until you draw a non-Spell Card or the effect cannot be applied.

If you have seen the YuGiOh anime you might know of a card called Berserker Soul, which allows you to attack again, and again, and again and again... so I made a spell version of it.

ehKyQ2x.jpg

Tribute 1 LIGHT monster you control; Destroy and Banish 1 face-up Zombie-Type monster on the field, also Banish all cards with the same name in the Decks and Graveyards.

Found a cool picture I felt I needed to make into a card, and it became a anti-Zombie trap card.

aAiYvOn.jpg

If this card destroys a monster by battle: put Spell Counters equal to the destroyed monster's level on this card. Tribute this card; Damage your opponent equal to the level of all face-up monsters and Spell Counters on this card x100.

Posted before, and even though it has a situationally strong burn effect it wasn't considered too strong back then. How about now?

VxIucAx.jpg

Activate only when a Winged Beast-Type monster your opponent controls declares an attack: destroy the attacking monster. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card; destroy 1 attacking Winged Beast-Type monster.

What can I say, my friend played a Blackwings deck...

3DjxJ77.jpg

When this card is Summoned, place 5 Missile Counters on this card (max. 5). During your Battle Phase, you can move any number of Missile Counters on this card to face-up monsters your opponent controls. A monster (except this card) with a Missile Counter loses 300 DEF for each Missile Counter. If a monster with a Missile Counter has 0 DEF it is destroyed.

The effect really doesn't make sense in YuGiOh where ATK goes against ATK

BBo6PMn.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned when your opponents activates a Spell Card. Then, it gains the appropriate effect, depending on the type of Spell Card:
● Normal or Quick-Play Spell Card: Once per turn, you can activate the effect of that Spell Card as this card's effect.
● Equip or Continuous or Field Spell Card: This card gains the effect(s) of that Spell Card.

I'm pretty sure I made this for a card contest back in the day. It did not win.

4Xoy8Z9.jpg

Each time you Summon a Spellcaster-Type monster(s), you can add 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to the bottom of your Deck and draw 1 card.

Type-specific Card of Safe Return with a slight cost. Still too good.

sCvm0qP.jpg

Activate only when you control no monsters, and your opponent controls a monster(s). Draw 1 card. If the card you drew is a monster that can be Normal Summoned, Special Summon it. If the card you drew has an effect that Special Summons a monster(s), discard that card and activate its effect. The effect(s) of the Summoned monster(s) is negated until your next turn. If you cannot Summon any monster, discard all cards in your hand.

Posted before. Still too situational and risky to be good I believe.

L2vQaDM.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned while you control no Spell or Trap Cards. When this card is Summoned, select 5 level 3 or lower Machine-Type monsters in your Deck and equip them to this card as Equip Spell Cards. A monster equipped to this card has its effect(s) negated. Once per turn, you can select 1 monster equipped to this card and its effect is not negated until your next turn. You can Tribute monster equipped to this card to Tribute Summon monsters. If you do, the Summoned monster is equipped to this card. The monsters equipped to this card can attack. If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy 1 monster equipped to this card instead.

Good movie!

s6PTMFZ.jpg

If you use this card as an Tribute for a Tribute Summon, you can perform that Tribute Summon in a turn you have performed a Normal Summon.

More Monarch support! With all that Synchro summoning surely this is not too strong.

b6RM2hW.jpg

Activate only when the effect(s) of a Level 4 or higher monster(s) that was Summoned this turn is activated. Negate that effect(s) and destroy the monster(s).

Posted before, was considered too strong. Now with priority gone is it still?

7HtxhMT.jpg

If this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, you can send this card to the Graveyard after Damage Calculation. During your Standby Phase, if this card was sent to the Graveyard by its own effect, you can return this card and 1 other card in your Graveyard to your hand.

I'm pretty sure this was also for a card contest. The battle damage condition makes it quite hard I believe.

eh9AVn6.jpg

Declare 1 card name in your Deck. That card(s) cannot be removed from your Deck. During each of your Draw Phases: reveal the card you draw. If it is not the declared card name: put 1 Despair Counter on this card. If you draw the declared card, discard it and destroy this card. You can send this card the Graveyard: draw a number of cards equal to the number of Despair Counters on this card.

I seriously have no idea if this card is awful or too good. Probably the former.
