This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Gladiator Beast Laquari". When this card is Special Summoned: you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or Lower "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Graveyard. When this card attacks an Attack Position monster, it gains ATK equal to half the ATK DEF of the Attack target.  At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked: You can shuffle it into the Deck; Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Laquari".

Laquari's name derives from a type of Roman Gladiator that fought with lassos. That's where I got the name from.

I thought the image was quite fitting given the enormous lasso-like tail that this guy has.

Being able to run over anything is a bit too good, Id probably have him be able to do piercing damage.

Since this card wouldnt really be a dead draw since you can tribute summon him.

Or you could change him to lv7 so then it would force GB's if they wanted to use this to use their draw card aswell.

Yeah I worked out just now that he can run over anything with less than 4400 ATK, which I agree may be a bit too good. Though it is only when it is attacking and it is only attack position monsters.

I might actually balance him out by taking away the tag option, since he doesn't negate the effect of what he summons from the Grave, so you can turn a single Laquari straight into 2 Glads of your choice.

The idea was for it to be a bit less of a dead draw than the other high level Glads, since that is the main reason they aren't used.

You already can make a single laquari into 2 glads with gb darius

but this is a more powerful version of it and running over attack position monsters is pretty good and running over 2100 def monsters in def mode is pretty good aswell, a bit too good.

Yeah but this allows for any 2 Glads and does not negate the effects, which is the reason this card is good in the first place. I suppose having that on top of the massive beating power is too much. I will change the attack boosting effect but I will still keep something like it to be like a more powerful Laquari.

I changed it so that it gains ATK equal to half the DEF of the target, making it less of a massive beatstick all the time. I toned it down to 2100 ATK as well. Also got rid of the tagging ability since you can keep your tags going with the Glad you get back from the Grave anyway.
