Number 84: Gimmick Puppet Broken Heart

Dark, Rank 8, Machine-Type, Xyz

 
3 Level 8 Monsters
Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz material from this card; During your opponents next Draw Phase, if they draw a monster your opponent takes damage equal to its ATK in the hand, and if they do, that monsters ATK and DEF is halved while on the field. If not, all monsters you currently control loose 1000 ATK, and if their attack is reduced to 0 due to this card's effect, destroy them.

About this card:
  • I found the image awhile back while looking for pictures for my Tech Archetype. Thought it would be good for a Gimmick Puppet, so I kept it, and here we are. (I edited in the numbers myself.)
  • The Number is located on it's heart, but it might be a bit small to see.
  • I chose 84 specifically due to the Gimmick Puppet archetype being used in the anime by Quattro. He claims that the number 4 is his "trademark," however number 44 was taken by Sky Pegasus, so I did 84 (44 + 40) instead.
  • It inflicts damage to your opponent because that seems to be what the majority of the Gimmick Puppet archetype is about.
  • It's ability is linked to it's name because the drawn monster "has it's heart broken" when it is forced to inflict damage to its owner, which then results in it weakening on the field because of it. However, if your opponent doesn't draw a monster, then your monsters "loose heart" and become weakened, with some even collapsing altogether from it. (Hence the Slifer-like effect.)

Design is cool, definitely.

About the Xyz Material-acquired effect, instead of detaching it during your Main Phase, then wait till your opponent's turn to resolve it, why not just write this (with some adjustments), along with some OCG fixes:

 

At the start of your opponent's Draw Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then reveal the drawn card; if it is a Monster Card, your opponent takes damage equal to its ATK in the hand, and if they do, that monster's ATK and DEF is halved while it is on the field. If not, all monsters you currently control loses 1000 ATK. (If their ATK is reduced to 0 due to this card's effect, destroy them.)

The Gimmick Puppet archetype has a habit of having low ATK/DEF stats compared to other cards of the same rank, but dish out some pretty gnarly effect damage. Due to this, I don't think I need to change the base stats, especially since a Giant Grinder is similar to this card, except has 500 less ATK and Def, and you need 1 less material than this card to get it.
As for the effect, I think I will go with your idea. Having it activate would cause a lot of suspense, but it would be better to activate it during the draw phase.
