JACMaker
I was reading this topic and saw a post by Bombmaster2001 saying, "you really need a synchro to go with this." So that is what I decided to do and make a Red-Eyes counterpart of Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon. Let me know what you think.
Amber-Eyes Onyx Dragon DARK | Level 9 [Dragon/Synchro/Effect] 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Normal Monsters When this card is Special Summoned: Dragon-Type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Normal Monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK and cannot attack directly this turn. When this card leaves the field, return all your banished monsters to the Graveyard. ATK/ 2000 DEF/2400
Bombmaster2001
Wow, uh, thanks for taking up my suggestion, I guess. The idea seems good in theory, but I don't think it's a good idea to have the 1500 extra attack stack. In two turns, you could have it up to 5000, but it does become vulnerable during the turn it can reach 5000, so that's a plus. Still, if your opponent has a clear field when you get this card out, 3500 is a lot. Although, I like where this is going, since Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon is a defensive monster, and this is offensive. I can't give it a rating now, I'm much too tired, but I'll come back to it with a clearer mind tomorrow. Maybe change it so that it can't attack on the turn it is summoned, or can't attack directly if its attack is more than its original attack? Maybe I can fix this by changing it to, "Once per turn, after your Battle Phase: You can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK," or, "Once per turn: You can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK, and if you do, it cannot attack this turn." Possibly, "Once per turn: You can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK, and if you do, it cannot attack directly this turn." Which one would be better? Feedback please. TIBONE LUIS
Also I think it should be limited to banishing Normal monsters(Similar to Azure-Eyes eff) and Once per turn: You can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK, and if you do, it cannot attack this turn. 6412225
This is a really cool concept. There would have to be a level 2 Tuner as a counterpart to Maiden for the summon (Next Project! :D) . I only have a couple suggestions. I agree with Tibone Luis that perhaps it should be limited to normal monsters or maybe even dragon monsters. Also the +1500 could be during either player's turn and only to the end phase. Sorry if I sound a bit pushy with my comments but I don't mean to sound that way. Have a good one! Limit the banishing cost to Normal Monsters is a great idea. This is a really cool concept. There would have to be a level 2 Tuner as a counterpart to Maiden for the summon (Next Project! :D) . A counter part to Maiden is why I made this card. The hyper link to it is in my first post as, "this topic," and you are still more than welcome to make your own counterpart for Maiden as you see fit. As for restricting the 1500 ATK beatdown I am going to use: "Once per turn: You can banish 1 Normal Monster from your Graveyard; this card gains 1500 ATK and cannot attack directly this turn." Bombmaster2001
Oh, and about the last part of this card, "Return all of your banished monsters to the graveyard." Should the eff limit it to only the monsters banished by its eff ?
JACMaker
Oh, and about the last part of this card, "Return all of your banished monsters to the graveyard." Should the eff limit it to only the monsters banished by its eff ? Well, I thought about that myself and decided against it to support Red-Eyes Wyvern and to have it see more use in other decks. DarkMagicianManiac
In my opinion, looking at all the comments on this post, since I'm the one that made the original post in the hyperlink, I agree this concept is great in theory, but here's the effect I would have: When this card is Synchro Summoned successfully: Dragon-type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn. If this card is in Defense mode: this card cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, you can banish 1 Normal monster from your Graveyard: this card gains 1500 ATK until the End Phase of your opponent's next turn. If you use this effect, this card cannot attack directly this turn. When this card leaves the field: return all your banished monsters to the Graveyard that were banished by this card's effect. The effect is basically the same, but with a limit on how long the 1500 ATK boost lasts AND limits the banished monsters that can be returned to the Graveyard to being just monsters that were banished by this card's effect. It makes it a bit more fair and makes the +1500 ATK effect less broken, because the way I see it, you could use the +1500 ATK effect one turn, and with the way the card is written, it's a permanent effect, but the "this card cannot attack directly" part of it is only for that turn. With the way I worded the effect, not only is the +1500 ATK effect not permanent, but it also makes it so that the next turn, it wouldn't be able to attack directly with 3500 ATK. Also, to compensate for it's lower stats, I also added that this card cannot be destroyed by battle while it's in Defense Mode. What do you guys think?
