Lunar Origins
Sniper Swiper Fiend * * * * * * [ Fiend / Effect ] You can Set this card in your Field Spell zone. If this card is in your Field Spell zone, during your Standby Phase: You can activate this card as a Field Spell card; Destroy 2 monsters on the field, then Special Summon this card from your Field Spell zone. If this card is destroyed while in a Monster zone: You can target 1 card you control; Return that card to the hand. You can only activate 1 effect of "Sniper Swiper Fiend" per turn, and only once per turn. [ ATK: 1900 / DEF: 2300 ] Basically an out against Midrash. Surprising unless your deck does not run Field Spells. If the opponent knows what it is, then they can play around it. Gives the ability to bounce one of your cards on death. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Not often I come here but since it's you and that is such a nice card name. By playing cleverly, you can turn your redundant field spell into MST bait and make people waste them thinking it's this, or at least make them a bit nervous about overextending since it demands two monsters from the field to go. But it's slow, and can be played around like you said. Attack stats seems fair given you can effectively start your turn by giving yourself a clear field to attack, and no-one is going to chain Torrential to this during your Standby despite wanting to evade its death effect and will wait for the normal summon instead, but I'd rather see the low attack than 'halve damage this turn' or any of that so you can play this tactically and wait for the chance to make the push for game with it, and if you go all out to early and overextend into a trap having used this it's your own fault. The bounce ability, although no doubt useful, doesn't seem to fit a sniper theme for me, personally. I think you could probably get away with it going off whenever its destroyed and sent to the grave, since it's a bounce rather than a destroy, and for MST plays it's still a preferable outcome to letting two of their monsters die, and if they chain it to you playing it then it gives you a gap for something else. That is if you want to keep it as bounce. Wow, reading that back some silly people might think I know what I'm talking about. I assure you I don't, but hopefully this helps :D

I like to think of it as him saving one of his own, or reclaiming some damage intelligence for repair, but that's mainly just flavor. :D
