Lunar Origins
Artifact Askalon Rank 5 | LIGHT [ Fairy / Xyz / Effect ] 2 Level 5 "Artifact" monsters When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can Set 1 "Artifact" monster from your Graveyard to your Spell/Trap Zone as a Spell card. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if this card would be affected by a Spell/Trap or monster card effect: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and, if it is your opponent's turn, destroy 1 Spell/Trap card you control; Negate that effect. When this card you control in your Monster Zone is destroyed: You can Set this card in your Spell/Trap Zone as a Spell card. During your opponent's turn, when this card in your Spell/Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card, also, you can attach 1 "Artifact" monster in your Graveyard to this card as an Xyz Material. You can only control 1 "Artifact Askalon". [ ATK: 2600 / DEF: 2300 ] Welcome another player to the Artifact family of weaponry, Askalon! Askalon is based on the mythological weapon of St. George, Ascalon. The Ascalon was used by St. George to kill a massive, evil dragon - which may or may not have symbolized an evil cult. To mirror this, Artifact Askalon has a few tricks up its sleeves designed to give it the ability to stand up to even the mightiest of monsters, as well as giving it a variety of tricks up its sleeves thanks to other weapons of its design. Artifact Askalon is nigh indestructible, a hardy weapon indeed. As such, any effects that would try to change it are negated; this includes cards such as the popular Dark Hole, Bottomless Trap Hole, and even Constellar Pleiades. However, it is a pure weapon, so effects that would affect it on your side of the field are also negated. This means you should keep your backrow well-stocked on other Artifact monsters, such as Artifact Moralltach and Artifact Scythe, in order to give Artifact Askalon fuel for survival, as well as triggering any of its Artifact friends during your opponent's turn! When this weapon would be destroyed, have no fear - it resets itself back into its dormant state, ready for the call to battle once more. When destroyed, it will re-summon itself and equip any Artifact monster in your Graveyard to itself, giving it some protection from the get-go. Delibirb
This is very scary. I like it. But I vote 3-mat because scary
Lunar Origins
I dunno, I feel like 3 effect invincibility is maybe a little too much because of how easily they can make 3 mat rank 5 monsters.
Progenitor
I absolutely adore the concept of re-using it over and over, but isn't the first effect just durandal but more controlled? Therefore pretty much every artifact player would run this over durandal unless they need a new hand. I think you should either make it 3 mats or change the first effect so as not to overshadow durandal.
