• 1: When this card is Xyz Summoned:  You can place Special Summon 1 Reptile-type monster from your Deck in face-down Defense position.  During the End Phase of this turn:  Flip that monster face-up, then destroy it.
• 2: During either player's turn:  You can detach 1 Xyz material from this card and destroy 1 Set card on your side of the field;  Level 4 or Rank 4 or lower Reptile-type monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, until the End Phase of your opponent's turn.  You cannot declare an attack during the turn you activate this card's effect.
• 3: Banish any Xyz Materials detached from this card.

Viper Queen slithers up from the wretched depths to deliver pain unto your enemies!  Viper Queen is a specialized Reptile-type monster meant to give a few decks the boost they need to thrive in the new metagame.  Given that Reptiles are an under-represented typing today, with only a few good cards such as Entermate Whip Viper, Kagetokage, Alien Grey, and Masked Chameleon, they were way overdue for a potent boss monster.

 

Viper Queen is very easy to Summon in a deck dedicated around her, with monsters such as Kagetokage turning any Normal Summon of your Reptile-type monsters into a chance to get her out onto the field.  Due to her low attack, she has trouble taking out any high-ATK monsters that your opponent may Summon - but have no fear!  Supporting monster Entermate Whip Viper will allow you to switch the ATK and DEF of any monster on your opponent's side of the field before you Xyz Summon Viper Queen with Kagetokage, allowing you to take out any problem monsters by battle.

 

Thanks to her first effect, Viper Queen works wonders with Worm monsters;  two Worm monsters that she has particular synergy with are Worm Yagan and Worm Xex!  Viper Queen's first effect will Special Summon a Worm Yagan from your Deck in face-down Defense position, then trigger its effect during the End Phase to allow you to bounce an opponent's monster back to the hand!  Wow!  Worm Xex goes hand-in-hand with Worm Yagan, who allows itself to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard so long as you control Worm Xex.

 

Tired of your Cosmic Fortress Golgar getting destroyed by those pesky Sakuretsu Armors?  Have no fear!  Viper Queen can protect it for just one more turn, while also destroying any Set Artifact monsters you may control in your Spell/Trap zone, even allowing you to plus off of its own protection!  Obviously, many decks will have a problem with this, and with Cosmic Fortress Golgar bouncing your opponent's Supply Units before you Summon monsters such as Artifact Moralltach, your opponent is sure to tremble in fear as they watch their resources dwindle.  And, after your PROTECTED Cosmic Fortress Golgar has finished bouncing those pesky cards and wreaking havoc on your opponent, you can Xyz Summon a Rank 5 monster such as Constellar Pleiades with Artifact Moralltach!  Your opponent stands absolutely no chance!
