Freed the Grand Marshal

EARTH

Level 8

Warrior/Effect

3000/3000

Cannot be Special Summoned. You can Tribute Summon this card (from your Deck) by Tributing 3 Warrior-Type Monsters, if you do your opponent cannot activate Trap Cards this turn. This card is unaffected by Spell Cards. During your Draw Phase, instead of conducting your normal draw: You can add 1 Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

Basically Freed the Matchless General becomes the head honcho of an entire army, capable of being brought out to the frontline at a moments notice. And with age comes knowledge, able of adapting and getting the right man for the right job at a moments notice. I'm not sure if I like his rather bland effects, it should build off his previous forms but I feel like it's just kinda "meh" as it is.

Thoughts?

I really like the whole 'from Deck" portion. It can really catch your opponent off-guard, and what's more unique is that it is a Tribute Summon (take some notes Monarchs). It is a shame we do not see much 'summon/activate from Deck' effects anymore, maybe komoney should capitlize on that... Being level 8 means trade-inable, but this guy may be a little bit too beefy for a Reinforcement of the Army-Skip Draw Phase effect.

The card just seems, stingy. "I will be Summoned. No, you can't use Trap cards on me. What? Spell cards? What are those?"

Summoning it from the Deck is really powerful (though, I GUESS it's 3 Warriors, so eh). Also, why Tribute Summon from the Deck? It seems awkward. It makes more sense for this to be a Special Summon and that this card could only be Special Summoned by its own effect.

Well as a General he was unaffected by Spells that targeted him, this is just building off of that. The Trap nullification lasts for a turn, and he requires significant resources to bring out. The Tribute Summon part is flavor, as the Marshal he'd be off the battle field and leading from behind, it represents him coming in and inspiring the troops in a bold way.

Well, either way, Advance Zone would be lovely with it (Hit backrow that was disabled, draw to make up for one of the minuses AND recycle would all make using this multiple times a possibility). I could see running Bushi and Normal Summoning Goblindbergh into another Warrior to Tribute for it, too.

Of course, this card isn't competitively viable, but in casual play it would be cute.
