This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:

This card is unaffected by card effects. When this card battles a monster, you can banish one card you control or from your hand and negate any effects it has for the remainder of the Duel: That monster's ATK and DEF become half the monster's original ATK and DEF during the remainder of the Battle Phase, and cannot be altered until after the Battle Phase.

 

I finally felt the need to make a card with my namesake. This is the result.
