NEW Dragon Ball Z Set! [5/?] Cell Added!

Hi YCMakers! I'm on to creating a set of DBZ cards. Archetypes were created and I'll explain the gameplay for each of them, as well some terms might come up to avoid huge text on the card's lore which will be explained on the "Terms" spoiler.

 

Set consists right now of:      1 Saiyan,   3 Bio-droids,  1 Spell Card.

Cards work with KI Counters (most of them), 1 KI Counter is put on a card during your standy phases, this applies for all monsters on my set unless I change my mind.

~SAIYANS~ Firs of all they tend to increase it's ATK, so they're very ofensive oriented. Whenever a Saiyan is Summoned, automatically 1 KI Counter it's put on the card giving the advantage of unlocking powerful effects. If you have 2 or more Saiyans on field and 1 of them is destroyed by battle, during your next Battle Phase, Saiyans gain ATK equal to the amount of Saiyans on the field x200. Whenever a Saiyan is destroyed by battle with KI Counters on it: You can Special Summon it during your Main Phase 1; it's effect is negated and it's ATK is increased by 1000, also, that monster must attack if possible; you cannot Summon another monster during that turn. (this is in reference of Zenkai's ability.

~BIO-ANDROIDS~  Bio-Androids... (or Cell related cards) since they have Saiyan DNA, they have the same Zenkai effect BUT slightly different. Whenever they are destroyed by battle regardless of having KI Counters or not : You must Special Summon them
during your End Phase. Bio Androids can "absorb" other monsters (this is gonna be explained on the "Terms Tab". That's pretty much it.

Here will go all the terms used on the cards and the meaning of each one.

~Absorb / Absorbed= This is just another way to describe when a monster is "attached" to another one, although they dont need to be detached to activate effects, they're used to allow Summoning conditions for other cards. Monsters absorbed cannot be transferred to another monster or have their effects activated. If whoever absorbs a monster is destroyed: that absorbed monster is destroyed as well.

I've just started with some Cell Cards. Cell is my favorite villain, so: here we go! I will leave card's lore later, they're readable, I hope you like them, feel more than free to judge.

LORE:
This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card attacks or is targeted by an attack: It gains 200 ATK.
   During your opponent’s turn, if this card is targeted by an opponent’s effect(s): You can remove 2 KI Counters from this card;
 call and activate one of the following effects:  * Blaster Meteor: Negate the effect and destroy that card. 
* Energy Shield: Target another card instead; This card gains 200 ATK. Once per turn, while this card has 5 or more KI Counters on it:
Remove all KI counters from this card; Call and activate the following effect: * Omega Blaster: Destroy All other face-up cards on the field.

I love the art design of the card. It looks awesome, so it matches Broly well. =)

 

The effect is pretty awesome, maybe a little too OP? You could consider adding another summoning condition or drawback, like it needs another monster present on the field or else it's destroyed. Or needs Life Points per turn to stay on field like the Archfiend monsters. I dunno, just an idea. =P

 

And I like your KI counters concept. I have a similar one for my Bleach Set ^_^. However an obvious drawback is that they don't really have a way to add counters normally (except by the Summoning I believe?). So that can be supplemented by adding some thing like: "Add 1 KI Counter to this card during each of your Standby Phases." or something like that. 

 

Overall, nice card. Looking forward to more and good luck for your DBZ set!

I've been waiting a LONG time for another good DBZ maker to come around.

I've felt that it was a little OP as well however, 1. it works with counters, 2. it's vulnerable to Spell/Trap Cards, 3. it requires 2 monsters to Normal Summon it,  4.it cannot be SS. The last effect requires 5 Counters and destroys everything on the field (face-up) including your side of the field. Even if it's a little bit too OP, Broly himself is OP :lol:

I might modify him a little as well, I feel it's a little too plain and simple... I forgot to say that KI Counters are in fact, added during your Standby Phase by 1.

Yeah, I think saying that would be integral to this archetype. :/

Right, it is now stated above :) You think it's best to state that on every card or I leave it as it is?

I think OCG-wise is not accepted. Although the idea is to literally call the name of the effect and activate it. Dunno. In real gameplay, only coins are called. I appreciate the observation though and your interest on the set :)
