Lunar Origins
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters If this card is Synchro Summoned and you do not control a Spell/Trap card: Draw 1 card. If you do not control a Spell/Trap card, and this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent: Excavate the top card of your Deck, and if the card excavated was a monster: Add that card to your hand and inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's Level x 300, else send that card to the Graveyard. newhat
One hell of a Spike card. Draw, then draw again if you do damage. There are other Decks that don't control backrow when they Synchro. For example, quick Synchro Decks. This is potentially stronger and more stackable than Hyper Librarian and comes with 2500 ATK. However it requires player interaction to reach its maximum potential so it's not "broken", just abusable.
The15thWing
De-Synchro can make this pretty scary. I think it should be considered with the ability to draw 2-4, not counting the attack excavation. 1: Synch Librarian 2: Synch this with no backrow 3: Draw 2 from Librarian and eff 4: De-Synchro from hand 5: Synch again 6: Draw another 2 Unless, of course, I'm missing some clause, this is kinda potent. I have to say, the combo mentioned above isn't really something that one should expect much of anyways. Mostly because you'd need both Librarian and this card to get out in, essentially, one turn. Given that, you'd need quite the astounding hand to really run a draw-combo that can let you really take advantage of this card in the manner you described. The syncho engine is powerful, but even that has limits. However, this brings up a decent point about hyper librarian +formula synchron into this card, letting you draw 3 cards in a turn (idk what you think of that, but whether or not you didn't intend for such a combo is not something I can assume). Regardless, though, the lack of a backrow is limitation enough. Newhat hit it on point when he said the card isn't op, just abusable. Honestly, the card is well designed and self-limiting, so there's nothing really to fix. I like it personally, and think the limitations are sufficient. The draw combos you could make with this are pretty much one of the few reasons to run the card - that and as a backup. Overall, it's a good card with a balanced (imo) effect. Has a niche, which honestly makes it better and more "real." Excellent card with potentially game-changing burn and nice draw power. Well worth summoning, and not op. :)

Well worth summoning, and not op. :) The problem is that, with this card, it can actually attack, and grabs MORE from it. The backrow limitation means nothing in decks such as the before mentioned Fast-Synchro, which only want to Synchro more and more. As opposed to Forumla, but with this card you get to excavate the top card, meaning a potential 5 cards are drawn. So while I'm not exactly sure of the limitations one could use to balance it, I feel it poses a problem to the balance of the card.
newhat
The problem is that, with this card, it can actually attack, and grabs MORE from it. The fact that you have to attack limits the abuse potential. You must interact with your opponent, and the draw can't really be used to OTK since you're already attacking.
