Self-Tuning

Spell Card

Special Summon 1 "Player Token" (Spellcaster-Type/FIRE/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). This card or Token is always treated as a Tuner monster. As long as this token or card is on the field, you cannot lose the Duel. If this token or card is destroyed or Tributed, you lose the Duel. This card's effects cannot be negated. If this card or token is used as Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz Material, that card gains this card's effects and Attributes.

Vengant Hellfire Warlock

***** DARK

Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect

1 "Player Token" + 1 "Zoma the Spirit"

If this card would be removed from the field, you can discard 1 card instead. When this card battles, at the end of the Damage Step, if this card battled and a monster was not destroyed: You may destroy the monster this card battled, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK on the field.

2800/2700

An extremely situational, over-the-top card that requires you to A: Risk the game on one monster, B: Use a cloggy trap monster and C: Use up a load of resources trying to keep it on board.

Is it too good? Not good enough? Is the PSCT correct on it? Let me know what you think.

"Vengeant?"

Anyways, Self-Tuning is way to risky for my liking, and leads to some questions;

A: If your opponent actually brings you down to 0 LP, and you have the Player-Token on the field, and then later use something which would bring you back to life, such as Soul of The Pure, Dian Keto, etc, and then is banished, which, by the wording would not make you lose the duel, would you continue to live?

B: Pretty sure the only thing this token could be used for is Synchro, with a few exceptions for Fusion, so it might be reworded as:

If this card or token is used as Synchro Material,  or Fusion Material for a summon, or Xyz Material, that card gains this card's effects and Attributes.

C: Why is it a FIRE Monster?

If I recall correctly, I made it FIRE as I believe that would be the Attribute that represents the feeling of passion the best. I did not feel either LIGHT or DARK would fit this card better at the time of making it.

Please do note, that if the listed Synchro Monster is summoned using the Player Token, it will gain the effects of the Player Token. Hence why I put down 'card or token', and why Xyz Material is listed as an option.

To respond to question A, yes, you would still be in the game. But who would use life gain, realistically speaking, anyways? Even in the janky deck you'd have to run to bring this sucker out?

Ok, that's what I guessed on the attribute, but I wasn't sure.

Question though, since cards like miracle fusion would banish this guy, would he then cause you to lose, or pass on the eff?

And finally, you could be up against something like Upstart.

Also, as for the synchro, pretty solid, but I don't see the connection between it and the token. I mean, if I'm gonna fuse with something, I don't wanna do it with Zoma. Which makes me ask, why isn't it a fusion? It states two specific monsters instead of 1 certain monster + any others. Maybe make it with any 1 "Trap Monster?"

It was originally intended for an on-site Roleplay, where I was going to have an old guy that absolutely INSISTED on using Zoma the Spirit. In hindsight, I could change it's summoning requirements, but making it easier to get out when it's already got a solid attack and intense self-protection effect, in addition to being able to pass on it's ability to the next thing you tune into? I'm not sure that'd keep it balanced.

Banishing the card will not trigger the effect that causes you to lose. You can, indeed, go for Escuridao or Nova Master if for any reason, you are running E-HERO Zoma Turbo.
