You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Tribute up to 2 monsters on the field or in your hand and target an equal number of monsters on the field; this turn, those monsters are unaffected by the effects of your opponent's Spell and Trap cards. This effect of "Ancient Gear Golem MK-V" can only be activated once per turn. If this card has "Ancient Gear Golem" or an Xyz Monster as Xyz Material, it is unaffected by your opponent's Monster Card Effects, also, double its original ATK.

I will tell you my views for this card with pleasure because i always liked Ancient Gear cards. Felgrand is not something to be jealous of this card because it has not the cost of tribute and u have surely 1 monster unaffected by everything. I'd prefer this card to be useful only for Ancient Gear cards, so in this case, the cost of tribute should be removed because Ancient Gears are still too slow and its a little difficult to have 2 lv 8 Ancient Gear monsters (Golem/Gadjiltron) on your side of the field to xyz summon this card. Its atk should be 3000 as Ancient Gear Golem. As most of Ancient Gear monsters are unaffected by spell/trap cards when they attack, you can have this card gain a similar eff but not only for spell/trap cards. Something like an xyz Star Eater for Ancient Gears.

 

Maybe like this "Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 "Ancient Gear" monster you control; if that target attacks this turn, it is unaffected by other card effects until the end of the Damage Step. If this card has "Ancient Gear Golem" as an Xyz Material; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn".

 

Μeant that even with this card, Ancient Gears arent playable yet.
