DarthBiotoa
Forgive me if they suck, but i do use them at my locals for fun duels. Everybody there seems to like them. First, a bit of information. It introduces two archtypes: "Avalanche" and "Creature"(name could be changed at later point). The "Avalanche monsters all have an effect called a LIMIT BREAK effect which can only be activated while certain cards are on the field.
When you Summon this monster successfully, you can Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position. That monster cannot attack this turn. LIMIT BREAK This monster can attack all monsters on your opponent's side of the field once each. When this monster deals Battle Damage to your opponent, gain Life Points equal to that amount. LIMIT BREAK Once per turn, when this card is attacked, negate the attack and Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position. While this card is in Defense Position, it cannot be destroyed by battle. LIMIT BREAK When this card is attacked, target 1 card your opponent controls. Return that card to the owner's hand. This card cannot attack directly unless there are no other monsters on your side of the field. LIMIT BREAK Roll a six-sided die. Deal damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the number rolled x 500. "Avalanche" monsters you control cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effect. Once per turn, if you control 2 different "Avalanche" monsters, add 1 "Limit Break" from your Deck to your hand. LIMIT BREAK This card deals Piercing Damage. Once per turn, you can target 1 "Avalanche" monster you control and this card. Choose a number between 1 and 8. Change the Levels of both cards to that number. LIMIT BREAK "Avalanche" monsters you control gain 500 ATK and DEF. If your opponent controls a monster while you do not, you can Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" monster from your Graveyard. Its effects are negated. LIMIT BREAK When this monster attacks a Defense Position monster, return that monster to the owner's hand(before damage calculation). When this monster destroys a monster by battle, you can Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck. That monster's effects are negated. LIMIT BREAK This card must attack if possible. If there is an "Avalanche" monster on your side of the field, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand. This monster can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. LIMIT BREAK During each of your Standby Phases, you may add 1 "Materia" card from your Deck to your hand. This monster cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. You can only Special Summon this monster while you control 2 or more different "Avalanche" monsters. This monster cannot be destroyed by card effects. LIMIT BREAK This monster can attack directly. This monster gains 200 ATK and DEF during each of your Standby Phases. During the Standby Phase of your third turn, destroy this card and all face-up monsters on your opponent's side of the field with ATK equal to or less than the ATK of this card. Once per turn, you can deal 1000 damage to your opponent's Life Points. If you use this effect, you cannot attack with this monster during this turn. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "Cactuar" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position. Once per turn, you can target 1 "Avalanche" monster you control. Return it to the hand, then Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" or "Creature" card from your hand in face-up Attack Position. Once per turn, you can target 1 card on the field and banish it. This monster cannot attack the turn you use this effect. 2 Level 7 monsters "Avalanche" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to banish one card on the field. While there is a "Sephiroth" card on the field, this card gains 1000 ATK and DEF. 2 Level 6 monsters When this card destroys a monster by battle, gain Life Points equal to that monster's original ATK. You can detach all Xyz Materials from this card to Special Summon as many "Avalanche" monsters from your Graveyard as possible. Those monsters are destroyed during the End Phase of this turn. 2 Level 8 monsters "Avalanche" monsters you control gain their LIMIT BREAK effects as long as this card is face-up on the field. Once per turn, during either player's turn, you may detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to negate a Spell/Trap or monster effect and destroy that card. 2 Level 8 mosnters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Sephiroth, the Master Warrior" card you have controlled for at least one turn as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that card also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn, you may detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to destroy 1 card on the field. This effect cannot be negated. 2 Level 8 mosnters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Bizarro Sephiroth" card you have controlled for at least one turn as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that card also become Xyz Materials on this card.) You can detach all Xyz Materials from this card to destroy all other cards on the field and deal 500 damage to your opponent for each card destroyed this way. You must skip your Battle Phase the turn you use this effect. 2 Level 5 monsters While there is a "Cloud Strife" or "Aerith Gainsborough" face-up on the field, this card gains 500 ATK and DEF. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 card your opponent controls. Return that card to the owner's hand and deal 500 damage to your opponent's Life Points. All "Avalanche" monsters gain their LIMIT BREAK effects. This card's activation cannot be negated. This card stays face-up on the field for two turns and cannot be destroyed by card effects. During your Standby Phase, you may activate one of the following effects: -If you control no monsters, you may add 1 Level 4 or lower "Avalanche" monster from your Deck to your hand. -If you control a monster, you may add 1 "Materia" card from your Deck to your hand. Choose one of the following effects: - Target 1 "Avalanche" monster you control. It gains a permanent 800 ATK and DEF. - Target 1 monster your opponent controls. It loses 800 ATK and DEF while it is on the field. If "Yuffie Kisaragi" is face-up on the field, you may use all the effects of this card. Choose one of the following effects: - Target 1 Spell/Trap card on the field. Return it to the owner's hand. - Target 1 monster on the field and banish it. If "Yuffie Kisaragi" is on the field, you may use all the effects on this card. Choose one of the following effects: -Add 1 "Avalanche" or "Creature" card from your Deck to your hand. -Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Avalanche" or "Creature" monster from your Deck to the field in face-up Attack Position. If "Yuffie Kisaragi" is face-up on your side of the field, you may use all the effects of this card. Choose one of the following effects: -Switch the ATK and DEF of all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. -Increase the ATK and DEF of all "Avalanche" monsters you control by 500. If "Yuffie Kisaragi" is on your side of the field, you may use all the effects of this card. Choose one of the following effects: -Target 1 "Avalanche" monster you control. It can attack again this turn. -You can target 1 "Materia" or "Limit Break!" card in your Graveyard and add it to your hand. If "Yuffie Kisaragi" is face-up on the field, you may use all the effects of this card.
Tell me what you think. Edit:8/8/2014: Fixed the Sephiroth XYZ monsters to be a bit more balanced out
Excalibur the Divine
In Final Fantasy, the Limit Breaks are activated when they take hits and/or they attack a lot. How do these cards use their LIMIT BREAK effects? Only by the limit break card?
DarthPhoenix99
I'm glad you used Advent Children images xD anyways I feel as though these might be a bit overpowered.. I mean look at Aerith: "When this monster deals Battle Damage to your opponent, gain Life Points equal to that amount. LIMIT BREAK Once per turn, when this card is attacked, negate the attack and Special Summon 1 "Avalanche" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position." Level 4 with 2100 attack xD. That's just my opinion though. All in all I like the concept considering I am a Final Fantasy fan.. someone else can do OCG check because I'm not great at it lol. Fixed. In Final Fantasy, the Limit Breaks are activated when they take hits and/or they attack a lot. How do these cards use their LIMIT BREAK effects? Only by the limit break card? And with Sephiroth out, which is pretty easy to do, considering how easy it is to get Red XIII on the field. I needed a way to let them use them, but only for a certain amount of time. For the sake of argument, "Limit Break!" is semi-limited in my head.
