Forest Fire
So... I've been more active recently and I got inspired by this More specifically, his Icarus.xe. And I made this: Lore: You may Tribute Summon this card by Tributing one face-up level 4 or higher Winged Beast-Type monster you control. This card cannot be destroyed by card effects. During your Standby Phase, place a Burn counter on this card; This card gains 200 ATK per Burn counter on it. When this card has 5 burn counters on it; Banish it and any other monsters whose ATKs are less then this cards. You may then summon a monster from your hand or Graveyard, except "Icarus of the Burning Sun", whose level equals the number of monsters Banished, ignoring it's summoning conditions.
Lore: You may Tribute Summon this card by Tributing one face-up level 4 or higher Winged Beast-Type monster you control. This card cannot be destroyed by card effects, except it's own.

You don't have to tribute summon this guy, but it is there so you can do this. (can/may... what's the difference?) Yes, you only get him for 5 of your turns, but if you can keep him and his counters on the field, the reward is well worth it. Yes, you could get burned (see? Burn counters?) but then you get to summon a monster equal to the number of destroyed by his effect. Icarus can't be summoned back by his own effect though, but he is counted so if your opponent has 5 monsters, that's a level 6 right there not including any of your monsters and you get to ignore the monsters summoning conditions. So I guess it's kinda a better version of this: (would I hate snatch steal like to do another "ignore summoning conditions" challenge against me?) newhat
This card cannot be destroyed by its own effect because its effect doesn't destroy it. Does its falling effect banish all other face-up monsters with lower ATK or just your own? Also, why can't you Summon another copy of this with its effect? derfy
Interesting card. I think all you have to do is retool some of the wording. It could lead to an interesting Archetype with burn counters on other "Burning Sun" cards. I could also imagine a type of card that inflicts effect damage for burn counters on it. Since it's effect isn't destroying it but banishing you don't need the text saying "Cannot be destroyed by card effects except its own" just keep the Cannot be destroyed by card effects part. I also like the picture too.
Forest Fire
Ok. (I kinda realized about the cannot be destroyed part, but thanks for mentioning it)
newhat
You can't summon another copy of Icarus with his own effect because that would allow you to just continuously use his falling effect, over and over and over, etc. It takes 5 of your Standby Phases to use his effect again, and he can be destroyed by battle, returned to the Deck or banished by an effect during that time. Also, you'd need to banish exactly 5 monsters to bring out another one, and he banishes himself in the process. I'd be astonished if someone pulled that off ever, let alone multiple times. 2000 ATK (slowly increasing), a very slow nuke=cycle effect, and pop immunity aren't worth the Tribute Summon. Forest Fire
*cough Banish 10* still, i really don't want him to be able to cycle.
