[Raviel the Phantom]

A new concept that I have thought up making use of Xyz monsters in a different way.  I have hopes of expanding this into an entire set of cards.  Please share your thoughts.

 

This card's Level is treated as a Rank while on the field. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, send 1 Xyz Monster to the Graveyard whose Rank is equal to the Level of this card: Special Summon this card.  When this card is Special Summon by this effect, it gains 500 ATK until the End Phase.

What exaxctly is the point of having it have a Rank? What are you intending to do with it? I also am not sure if you mean from the field or from the Extra Deck, if it's from the Extra Deck, then it's kind of dumb, since you get to revive a 3K attacker and have it boosted as long as you have Rank 8s in your Extra Deck. At least make that OPT if that's the case. It's also mandatory, which seems strange. But it's an interesting card, probably requires an Archetype to really be useful.

I meant to do you can, kinda saw it now.  The fact it has a rank means you can't use it for sync and xyz summons.  Also it allows it to bypass cards like gravity bind and cards that can affect levels.

Hm that's true, though nobody really uses Gravity Bind anymore, and not being able to use it for Xyz Summons is a bad thing, so you're really just making the card worse. Still don't know if you mean from the Extra Deck or the field.
