Atypical-Abbie
Ever wanted to know how to figure out a Ruling? Well this is the guide for you! This goes over various ways to easily figure out your problem. Any suggestions or fixed are appreciated. Reading the cards: The first thing you both could and should do is read the cards. A lot of the time, looking at the cards will solve the problem. If you already know how Problem Solving Card Text (PSCT) works, then this is the only thing you'll need 90% of the time. Now, you might be asking, "what is PSCT?" and that's a good question, especially if you're new at the game. Well, long story short, PSCT is a new way of writing cards that Konami introduced in 2011 in the Set Generation Force. Since then, it has gotten better and better at making looking up Rulings irrelevant, and while it's not perfect, it's very good at what it does. It's quite easy to learn if you follow these articles: https://yugiohblog.k...lving-card-textThe Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia: The wikia typically has Rulings on each card. These are official Konami Rulings and you always know that they're not fake since they always link to the Ruling, and if they don't, then it's either false, or it's outdated. This may not always be the best results however, as some Rulings only apply in the Original Card Game (OCG) or the Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) Rulings and you should only use those if there are no TCG Rulings and PSCT doesn't fix your issue. For more about the validity of Ruling sources, check out this thread: http://forum.dueling...roblem-solving/ Searching on the internet: When PSCT doens't seem to fix your problem, searching on the internet helps a lot. There's a good chance that your problem has already been addressed before. Now, while you don't always have access to the internet IRL, on DN, Google is just another tab away, so it's easy to figure it out. Also, make your opponent Google too, to make it faster. For the best results when Googling, there are a few ways to get what you want most of the time. Saying "Card Name VS Card Name" is the most common. People will typically make threads named this, since it shows an interaction between those cards. It also helps to say "Ruling" or "rules" as well, to make sure you get what you need.Looking up similar cards: No duel is always going to turn out the same way. Sometimes you might find that you have 2 cards that clash and you don't know how they interact and you try to Google those 2 cards, but you end up realizing that nobody has anything on that, the Rulings on the wikia are no help, an PSCT didn't help. Looking up cards that are similar works. While this can be harder for newer players that don't know the cards and game that well, there's a fix to that, which is searching the effect of the card. Typically, cards are worded the same way, so if you just exclude words that make it a bit different, like for example an Attribute or Type, then you can probably find a card that works the same as that. This also helpful if you're not in a duel and you have DN open, then you can simply put the effect in, and you'll get similar results. A helpful tip when during that is that you can use an asterisk to search between different parts of the effects. For example, something like "Target 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard * destroy" would mean that it would put up results that have those in the text, even though it's not the full text you're using. Asking an admin/judge: Depending on your situation, if neither player can figure it out or if you don't have access to the internet, calling an admin or judge over can help. If you're playing without the possibility of a judge, you can instead simply find a conclusion that both players can agree with. Asking on forums: Typically a last resort, and one you should avoid if you can use an admin/judge instead. This is only when you don't seem to be able to find anything, and the last resort is the forums. Of course, follow the rules set by the forum when asking, and make sure you make your question clear. LeLukeX
You know, if the Yugioh community was nicer. "Ask your opponent." Could be another option D:
Neutrality Man
You know, if the Yugioh community was nicer. "Ask your opponent." Could be another option D: Indeed. People on DN are always shocked when I'm actually telling the truth about why they can't 101 my Pendulum Summoned Gemini monsters. (I Normal Summoned their target after the PS to use the effect. It doesn't count as Special Summoned anymore.)
Atypical-Abbie
Indeed. You're actually wrong about that: "After a Gemini monster is Special Summoned by an effect like "Monster Reborn" and then is Normal Summoned a second time, the Gemini monster is still considered to have been Special Summoned. Thus, the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Tornado" will still destroy the Gemini monster."
