Terrus/Nebulus Archetypes (14/?)

The Terrus/Nebulus archetype mainly focuses on summoning Nebulus cards. Most Terrus are Effect monsters, while all Nebulus monsters are Extra Deck monsters (either Synchro or Xyz).

 

They are all Machine-type monsters.

 

Constructive criticism always appreciated.  Tell me what you think. :)

I know there aren't any Main Deck Nebulus monsters right now, but maybe some will be added in the future.[/spoiler]

When this card is Xyz Summoned: Target 1 "Terrus" monster in either player's Graveyard, equip that target to this card as an Xyz Material. Once per turn, you can target 1 monster card your opponent controls, destroy it. If this card has "Nebulus Soldier" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.

If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Draw 1 card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Terrus" Tuner monster from your Graveyard.[/spoiler]

When this card is Synchro Summoned by the effect of a "Terrus" or "Nebulus" Spell card, target 1 of your banished "Terrus" monsters, Special Summon it. Its effects are negated. Once per turn, you can equip 1 Equip Spell card from your Deck to this card. If this card would be destroyed by battle or by card effects, destroy the Equip Spell card instead.[/spoiler]

Thanks for responding. I have to agree with you. At the time when I was making these, they seemed fine, but as I was making this post and put the cards in, I realized how OP some of them are. Just to be clear, you were talking about Nebulus Burst and Nebulus Synchrosis, yes? Once per duel would work great. I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the monsters, but that's okay.

 

For Nebulus Burst, how about:

Tribute 1 "Nebulus" monster you control, destroy all monster your opponent controls. While this card is in your Graveyard, you can banish this card and 1 "Nebulus" card to target 2 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls, banish them. This effect can only be activated once per Duel.

As in, the second effect can only be used once.

 

Now, onto Nebulus Synchrosis:

This is one where I noticed how OP it was when I was making the post. Unless Bottomless Trap Hole or Solemn Warning or a card of that nature was used, you would pretty much be able to get 2 synchros. Once, for the effect of the card, and then a second when the Synchro monster is sent back to the Extra Deck and the Tuner/other monster are Special Summoned back. So, how about this:

This card can only be activated during your opponent's Main Phase 1. You can Synchro Summon 1 "Nebulus" Synchro monster from your Extra Deck using monsters you control. During the End Phase of your opponent's turn, return the Synchro monster summoned by this effect to the Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 of the monsters used to summon it. This card's effect can only be used once per Duel.

This will stop the second synchro (assuming you don't have another monster in your hand to use), and you will only be able to use the card once.

 

On a side note - Terrus Power Fist may give too much bonus ATK, especially on a card such as Terrus Hunter. I can always change the effect of Power Fist; don't want Terrus Hunter being able to search for 2 cards if it destroys an opponent's monster while Power Fist is equipped.

This is a really cool archetype, some of the spells are over powered but most real cards are :) i think its a solid tier 1 archetype that could compete with shaddoll and tellerknights if playe well. good job.

Ima comment on every single card.....

[spoiler='Dat Comment Tho.']Terrus Hunter: Has a rly strong search effect but destroying a monster by battle nowadays is kinda eeeeeeh cause most archetypes gain advantage of it (e.g. shadolls their flip effects or yang zing just being yang zing) so i like that you also gain a plus of it, cost/reward is both okay so not much to say there.
Terrus Mechbeast: Returning a S/T to the hand means that the opponent can reuse it, but that's okay seeing how powerful the second effect is, i can see why this is a LV6 which makes it balanced, nice card.
Terrus Sniper: Free Alucard on Special Summon seems nice, the restriction is a bit awkward because you'll rather Synchro/Xyz summon with it than attack, but the card is okay as is, i'd make it a once per turn tho so that if you summon 3 of'em in one turn (yay for Soul Charge) you cannot kill 3 set which would be kinda too good.
Terrus Commando: If you can Special Summon the monster that you tributed back instantly its kinda meeeeeeh of a cost because it's no cost at all. That's fine tho, it's okay. What i don't like about this card is that despite being easily summonable, it does not much for the deck except for being a 2700 beater for 1 card from the hand, because you cannot use it for ANY of the Extra Deck monsters. I'd maybe give it an effect to change the level but that's just me.
Nebulus Burst: I'd make it so you can only use one effect per turn because it still seems quite unbalanced if you can make your opponent go -4 with 1 card on the same turn.
Nebulus Synchrosis: It's fine, i like the concept of being able to activate it on the opponents turn.
Terrus Metropolis: It's okay, the protection is good but not too good, being protected from BTH is quite nice. I like that it's just in your own turn.
Terrus Power Fist: If the attack doesn't go through you go -1 but seeing how you can potentially plus off this card it's fine, equips suck nowadays but if they're as good and helpful as this it's okay.
Nebulus Bulwark: No one uses that many destroy-effects anymore, but as it even lets you draw that's good because else it would be OP.
Nebulus Resurrection: Exists for DARK monsters in the TCG so not much to say, it's good.
Nebulus Soldier: It's called "attaching", not "equipping" if you add an Xyz material. Aside from that, it doesn't seem that good, but as the other cards you use before you Xyz summon get their effects when Summoned (some) it's good to have an attacker like this.
Nebulus Mercenary: Tbh i would swap the effects around. Just for free adding a Nebulus or Terrus Spell card from your Graveyard and still being able to activate it without drawbacks seems a little too good i think. If you swap the effects so that it can destroy a S/T for free when its summoned and that it can't attack when you add a Spell by detaching it seems more balanced to me.
CXyz Nebulus Captain: Idk if this would make me want to run rank-ups, but it's strong enough for a chaos monster so maybe there should be more rank 4s you can work with than Soldier.
Nebulus Sabre: It's good as it is. I'd not change it, I like it that way.[/spoiler]

 

Overall a nice archetype with some minor errors that can be fixed, keep up the good work. ^-^

Took me a while to actually want to fix these, but they got done.

Check out the new effects and tell me what you think.

 

Added 2 new cards:

Terrus Centurion (Effect)

Terrus Celestia (Synchro/Effect)

 

@aiden80 Thanks for the reply and thanks for the comment. I fixed up the effects of the spells so they should be better now. :)

 

@Self-Destruct Button Suprised me that you comment on every card, but it really helped in fixing the effects, so thanks for taking the time to do that. Anyways, like the line before, I fixed the spell effects, added some new cards (mainly to make Commando useful) and changed some things so this archetype isn't too op.

I think the Burst is fine now, only destroying 1 is not broken but rly good, so that's balanced. Synchrosis shouldn't be once per Duel i think, i mean look at Yang Zing or Formula Synchron, they're monsters that have the Synchrosis effect Built-In without even having a "once per turn" clause, not even thinking of "once per duel". 

Regarding that Synchrosis is up to now the only card that can summon Celestia so she gets the effect I'll just tell my opinion on how they work together, which is not THAT good to be honest. I mean like: Special Summoning a Monster for free is quite nice, but it's not really that effective if it happens on the opponents turn (which it ALWAYS will because of Synchrosis) because they have like... years to react to the monster before you even get to do anything with it. That's why i think Celestia is a bit weird because you only get the first effect when its summoned on the opponents turn but can only use the second in your turn - where she will be already gone if summoned by synchrosis - because it's not during either players turn. I'd wish her to be able to use both effects on one summon, which is not possible as it is now.

@Self-Destruct Button What about instead of when Summoned by the Spell card effect, it's just when it is Synchro Summoned? Then you can gain both effects in the same turn (if yours) and get still get the Special Summon effect from Synchrosis.

Also, Centurion will help with the Summoning of Celestia.

 

P.S. Does anyone know how to change the title of a post (if possible)?

This looks really good! One thing I would say is that I think that it's pretty rediculous that Commando is basically an 8 star monster that requires 1 tribute, and it has a good effect, especially considering it's special summoned and not normal summoned, meaning you could just normal summon a monster first turn and then get it out, which is amazing. Not really overpowered, but strong as hell. Maybe make it so that it's normal summoned instead.

 

A few OCG errors:

You keep putting commas where periods need to be. Like

 

Once per turn, you can target one "Terrus" monster in your Graveyard, Special Summon that target, but it cannot attack

There should be a period in between Graveyard and Special instead of a comma. You did this in quite a few cards, like on Celestia.

 

When this card is Synchro Summoned by the effect of a "Terrus" or "Nebulus" Spell card, target 1 of your banished "Terrus" monsters, Special Summon it.

There should either be a period in between monsters and Special, or an "and" instead of a comma. The comma just doesn't make sense there.

 

Otherwise this looks really good!
