[WIP Idea] Shado Archetype

So I really wanted to create a decent, usable archetype since most archetypes I design are utter rubbish. And since I hate Xyz monsters (although really I just don't understand them very well) I decided to make this idea anti-extra deck. My apologies for I am not very up with the meta right now but am trying to catch up so there might already be something that fulfills this better than I have designed. Since I don't want them to be useless against decks that don't rely on extra-deck monsters I also gave them quite strong abilities in great numbers.

 

The idea is basically to swarm Normal monsters called "Shadowkin" and then empower them with monsters called "Shadowform". The archetype is named "Shado" because the support cards have "Shado" in their name (Shadowkin, Shadowform) and also to prevent clashing with current "Shadow" cards if there are any. The sub-archetypes being "Shadowkin" and "Shadowform". Though I am unaware of if I can use a search card that say has the effect: Add 1 "Shado" card from your deck to your hand. and use it to add a Shadowform monster to the hand if someone could clarify this I would be grateful.

 

At the moment there are few cards that increase the ATK of the monsters as I think this arch can use Solidarity for that.

 

Example: you have 3 "Shadowkin Yrevarb" Normal Monsters on your field. You could then empower them by having some "Shadowform" monsters on the field such as "Shadowform Raef" whose effect adds an effect to each "Shadowkin" Normal Monster on the field whilst still treating them as Normal Monsters for the support cards.

 

This arch is very work-in-progress and is subject to possible drastic change. I'm open to suggestions and ideas.

Shadowkin Yrevarb

Level 4 DARK/Fiend

Confidence can be as strong as a torpedo, but don't let it give you an enormous ego.

Shadowform Dertah

You can return this face-up card to your hand, you can only activate this effect of a "Shadowform" monster once per turn. Whilst this card is in Attack Position all face-up "Shadowkin" monsters you control gain the following effect (they are still treated as a Normal Monster):

● When this card battles it gains 200 ATK for every other "Shadowkin" monster on your side of the field.

 

Shadowform Raef

Level 3 DARK/Fiend/Effect

You can return this face-up card to your hand, you can only activate this effect of a "Shadowform" monster once per turn. Whilst this card is in Attack Position all face-up "Shadowkin Yrevarb" and "Shadowkin Ssenipah" monsters you control gain the following effect (they are sill treated as a Normal Monster):

● If this card is attacked, after damage calculation you can return this and the attacking monster to their owner's hands.

 

Shadowform Moolg

Level 4 DARK/Fiend/Effect

1500/0

You can return this face-up card to your hand, you can only activate this effect of a "Shadowform" monster once per turn. Whilst this card is in Attack Position all face-up "Shadowkin Ssenipah" and "Shadowkin Evol" monsters you control gain the following effect (they are still treated as a Normal Monster):

● At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck; destroy that monster and then end the Battle Phase.

 

Shadowform Souleaj

Level 4 DARK/Fiend/Effect

1350/0

You can return this face-up card to your hand, you can only activate this effect of a "Shadowform" monster once per turn. If this card is Normal Summoned change it to face-up Defense Position. Whilst this card is in face-up Defense Position all face-up "Shadowkin Erised" and "Shadowkin Evol" monsters you control gain the following effect (they are still treated as a Normal Monster):

● If this card battles a monster you can change that targets battle position if you can.

 

Shadowform Deerg

Level 5 DARK/Fiend/Effect

1900/0

You can return this face-up card to your hand, you can only activate this effect of a "Shadowform" monster once per turn, and if you do you can Special Summon 1 other "Shadowform" monster from your hand. Whilst this card is in Attack Position all face-up "Shadowkin Erised" and "Shadowkin Yrevarb" monsters you control gain the following effect (they are still treated as a Normal Monster):

● If this card successfully declares an attack, at the end of the damage step; draw 1 card.

Shado Summon

Quick-Play Spell

Target 1 "Shadokin" monster in your graveyard and discard 1 card from your hand; then Special Summon that target, also Special Summon monsters with the same name as that target from your hand or graveyard. You cannot Special Summon another monster until the end of the turn this card was activated.

 

Shado Artifact

Normal Spell

Add 1 "Shado" card from your deck to your hand; then send one other card from your hand to the graveyard.

 

A Necessary Sacrifice

Continuous Spell

Once per turn you can place 1 "Shadowform" monster from your hand to the Spell/Trap Zone, it can still activate it's effects and is returned to your deck during the end of your opponents next turn.

 

Gathering Shadows

Normal Spell

Target 1 "Shadowkin" monster on your side of the field; special summon 2 monsters with the same name from your hand or deck. You cannot Normal Summon the turn you activate this card.

 

Shadow Plane

Field Spell

"Shado" monsters cannot be used to Special Summon a monster from the Extra Deck. The effects of all Fusion, Synchro and Xyz monsters cannot target or destroy "Shado" monsters. During their turn a player can shuffle any amount of "Shadowkin" monsters you control into the deck, and if you do you can Special Summon an equal amount of "Shadowkin" monsters from your Deck.

Shado Bulwark

Normal Trap

If this card resolves banish it. Target 1 face-up "Shadowform" monster you control; that monster gains the following ability until the end of your turn:

● All "Shadowkin" monsters on your side of the field gain 500 defense.

 

Shadobane

Normal Trap

If this card resolves banish it. Target 1 Attack Position monster your opponent controls; only that target can destroy "Shado" monsters this turn. If this card and another 2 or more "Shado" cards are banished you can return this card to the graveyard and target 2 banished "Shado" cards; shuffle them to their owners Decks.

 

Shado Shield

Normal Trap

If this card resolves banish it. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving "Shado" monsters this turn, also target 1 "Shado" monster you control; that target can attack twice this turn.

 

Shado Banner

Continuous Trap

Target 1 "Shado" monster you control; your opponent can only attack monsters with that target's name. If this card is destroyed destroy all monsters on your side of the field with that name are removed from the field; destroy this card. You can only have one "Shado Banner" active at one time.

Just want to reserve this first comment for a collective Change Log. As this set hopefully develops i'll post all the changes here. I don't think this breaks the rules on bumping as it's a rather large update but sorry if it does.
