MyTomorrow77
The Egyptian God cards have always been amongst my favorite in the anime. When they were legally reprinted, just about everyone was disappointed with Slifer and Ra. Obelisk's brute force and non-target clause really makes him stand above the others, when in reality Ra is supposed to be the mightiest. I'd like to try and correct that here, and as a newbie, would appreciate any feedback. I'm also not concerned about these proposed cards becoming forbidden. Obelisk the Tormentor: Keep him as he is. Has all the necessary powers of a God card and starts with a powerful base attack and defense. Slifer the Sky Dragon: Add the non-target clause so he is safe from traps and other monster effects. **Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned Send it to the Graveyard. Cannot be targeted by Spells, Traps, or card effects. This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card in your hand. When a monsters) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Attack Position; That monster(s) loses 2000 ATK, then if its ATK has been reduced to 0 as a result, destroy it.** Winged Dragon of Ra: Add the non-target clause and reinstate his ability to gain ATK and DEF equal to those monsters used for tributes. In addition, reword the Life Point clause so that any amount may be paid, but only when it is special summoned (which ought to be allowed). **Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated. Cannot be targeted by Spells, Traps, or card effects. This card's ATK and DEF is equal to the ATK and DEF of the monsters used for tribute. When this card is Special Summoned: You can pay Life Points so that this card's ATK and DEF equal the amount paid. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned Send it to the Graveyard. You can pay 1000 Life Points, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy that target.** I think these changes would make for much more interesting duels. As they are now, Slifer and Ra can be easily overpowered by plenty of other cards in the game.
heraldry_lord
While I would love to see these changes made to the Gods, I doubt it will happen anytime soon.
