This Archetype was inspired by a single idea: What if there was a fusion monster that listed itself as a material? The whole thing sort of evolved from that: an archetype of ethereal ghosts that pave the way for their dark masters.

Technically speaking I suppose this would be a pair of intertwined archetypes: The maindeck "Traversal" cards and the extra deck "Ex-Traverse" monsters. The most important "Traversal" card is probably this one:
KVAZRk2.jpg

Traversal Keystone

Light/1/Fairy/Effect

0/0

So long as you control an "Ex-Traverse" fusion monster, this card cannot be targeted for attacks or by card effects. Once per turn, on either player's turn, you may Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If there are no Fusion Monsters in your field or graveyard, you may use monsters from your extra deck as materials as well.
Which lets you fusion summon using monsters in your extra deck as materials -- but only if there are no fusions on your field or in the grave. Once you get the ball rolling (Though you can use Instant Fusion or such for similar results), you have to rely on your hand, field, and grave from there.

While Keystone is a level 1 light monster, the rest of the "Traversal" monsters are Level 2 and wind, which is part of why I'm listing them separately below. Each of the other Traversal Monsters has a search effect when normal or flip summoned (But not when special summoned, which is important as two of them special summon themselves) and have another effect that activates when they're sent to the graveyard for a fusion:
SCUNTzi.jpg

Traversal Wayfinder

Wind/2/Zombie/Effect

0/800

When this Monster is normal or flip-summoned, you may add 1 "Traversal" monster from your deck to your hand. When this monster is sent to the graveyard as a material for a fusion summon, you may pay 500 life points. If you do, special summon this monster from your graveyard.

Traversal Waycutter

Wind/2/Zombie/Effect

800/0

When this Monster is normal or flip-summoned, you may add 1 "Traversal" spell or trap from your deck to your hand. When this monster is sent to the graveyard as a material for a fusion summon, you may pay 500 life points. If you do, special summon this monster from your graveyard.

Traversal Formshaper

Wind/2/Zombie/Effect

400/0

When this Monster is normal or flip-summoned, you may special summon one "Traversal" monster from your deck. When this monster is sent to the graveyard as a material for a fusion summon, you may pay 300 life points. If you do, banish this monster from your graveyard and draw a card.

Traversal Mindshaper

Wind/2/Zombie/Effect

0/400
Also providing support are, obviously, "Traversal" spell and trap cards:
pdhSqZ8.jpg

Traversal of Fate

Continuous Trap

Whenever a Fusion Monster you control leaves the field, you may special summon, from your hand, graveyard, or extra deck, a monster listed on that card as a fusion material.

Polarity Traversal

Counter Trap

When your opponent would summon a monster from their extra deck: Pay 2500 LP; negate the Summon, and if you do, destroy that card and special summon one "Ex-Traverse" monster from your extra deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) It loses all abilities, and is destroyed during the end phase.

Sudden Traversal

Trap

Activate this card by paying 600 life points and targeting 1 "Ex-Traverse" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in defense Position. You may then pay an additional 600 life points to fusion summon a fusion monster from your extra deck, using that target and cards in your hand as materials.

Role Traversal

Continuous Spell

When you activate this card, you may pay 600 life points. If you do, you may add a "Traversal" card from your deck to your hand. When fusion summoning an "Ex-Traverse" monster, other than "Ex-Traverse Rear Guard," that has exactly two monsters listed as its fusion materials, you may substitute a WIND-attribute "Traversal" or "Ex-Traverse" monster you control for one of the listed materials, except for "Ex-Traverse Vanguard."
And lastly of course are the "Ex-Traverse" monsters themselves. The key monster for here is "Ex-Traverse Vanguard," which the majority of "Ex-Traverse" monsters list as a fusion material -- including Vanguard itself.
EXBIiT2.jpg

2400/2400
"Emblem of the Ex-Traverse" + 1 "Ex-Traverse" Fusion Monster
"Ex-Traverse Vanguard" cannot be used as a material for this card's fusion summon. If an "Ex-Traverse" monster you control attacks or is attacked, you may target it; during damage calculation: Banish any number of "Ex-Traverse" or "Traversal" monsters from your field or graveyard; that target gains 500 attack and defense until the end of the battle phase for each card banished this way.

Emblem of the Ex-Traverse
Wind/2/Rock/xyz/effect
1200/1200
2 or more (Max. 5) level 2 Monsters

Once per turn, you may detach an xyz material from this card; return one "Traversal" or "Ex-Traverse" card in your graveyard to the hand.
.

So there you have it: My "Traversal" and "Ex-Traverse" cards. Thoughts?
