Lumin567
This is my first posted archetype, the mix gears, who focus on a very gimmicky play style of bouncing back and forth between deck and the field with their continous spell Mix Gear Whirlwind. I tried to make it so that they have intresting options (you can keep them on the field on your opponent's turn for defense, or you can safely bounce them to avoid risk of destruction) but I can only hope I suceceed. This is my first archetype, so make sure to be critical so I know what I did wrong! I apologize for not being very good at OCG in advance.
This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card can only be special summoned by it's own effect OR the effect of a Mix Gear Whirlwind you control. Lumin567
I just reviewed my archeytpe. What on earth. How did I make it this bad?!?! Oh well, the obvious problem is that there are NO WHERE NEAR enough ways to generate cog counters quickly. So, I shall make some ways!
You cannot normal summon monsters or special summon monsters besides mix gear monsters. You can only special summon monsters with this card's effect. Whenever a mix gear monster is shuffled into your deck, place cog counters on this card equal to it's level. If this card would be affected by an opponent's card, you can remove a cog counter from it instead. You can remove any number of cog counters from this card to special summon a monster with a level equal to the number of cog counters on this card from your hand. When you synchro summon a mix gear monster, you may shuffle it's materials into the deck from the graveyard. During your turn, you may shuffle up to two cards from your hand into your deck to place cog counters on this card equal to the number of shuffled cards. You may only control one Mix Gear Whirlwind.

This card cannot be normal summoned or set. This card can only be special summoned by it's own effect OR the effect of a Mix Gear Whirlwind you control. You can skip your draw phase to add this card from your deck to your hand, and discard one card if you do. You may special summon this card from your hand. You may only summon one other monster the turn you activate this effect. When you special summon this card this way, set one Mix Gear Whirlwind from your deck to your spell trap zone. You may remove one cog from a Mix Gear Whirlwind you control: this card becomes a tuner until the end phase. Shuffle this card into your deck during the end phase. You may choose to shuffle this card into your deck during your opponent's end phase instead.

Shuffle one mix gear card from your graveyard into your deck, and place one cog counter on a mix gear whirlwind you control.

Send two cards from your hand to the graveyard to negate the activation of a card your opponent controls and destroy it.

Shuffle one mix gear card you control into your deck, and don't place any counters on a Mix Gear Whirlwind you control becuause of this. Then special summon one Mix Gear monster from your hand, ignoring it's summoning conditions.
Basically, this little kit will help you accelerate so much faster. The other two cards are for trap support. 49 views! Yes!

RedEmissaryofDarkness
Holy mother of god...this is THE most awkward archetype i have ever seen. First of all, the OCG on some of these cards is incredibly off kilter, especially in the Synchros, like what the heck is "Sources" in rail cannon? What effects is being ignored in ScrapMetal Crusher? It would take me an eternity to really try to find a way to fix this. Second, Rail Cannon is ALREADY an Artwork for an Official Yugioh Card "Ancient Gear Cannon" Third, This is by far the strangest Archetype effects i have ever seen. I don't even know how to really make this work. I'll start from step 1 1.Having an archetype that completely relies on 1 Spell in order to do ANYTHING is essentially a recipe for disaster. You would literally not be able to do anything without this card. THis would mean that the Dead Draw rates would be through the roof. Also, if your opponent runs MST on the activation, or chains the activation with Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, you are essentially done for. It cannot work under 1 deck and it essentially spells out clog city for days. 2. Th fact that you cannot in anyway Normal Summon these monsters is a nightmare in clogginess. THis is another area where some OCG clarification would be needed. Can it be Set? IF not, then it is a Nomi that makes Meklords look viable. If so, then you need to clarify such. 3. Seeing the Whirlwind spell, as a late game solution, i can see how this would work, but in the first turn, how in the heck are you supposed to bring ANYTHING out? It would take multiple turns to establish anything, and by the time that happens, then you are essentially dead. Even if you do shuffle in enough monsters to make this work, it has a Yosenju based problem. Once they are gone, you are defenseless. It is nice that you added the until the opponent's end turn, but why not just make it that for the Synchros? 4. None of these cards have enough firepower to make any of this worth it. You can't summon anyone with this deck to help you, and the only official spell i can see helping is A Wild Monster Appears! but even then, you can't do anything else. The ONLY 2 cards in all of this that is good is Mix Gear Shift and Mix Gear Wall, but the latter is just for other decks like Burning Abyss and Shaddolls who can benefit from that Solemn Judgment. 5. Programming this would be a nightmare online. Not to mention that the amount of counters needed would easily make this a troll deck on DN. Overall, this is possibly the most poorly devised archetype i have seen. I probably have a better chance at winning against BA with Ice Barriers 10 times in a row than winning once with this. I really do not wish to be so negative, but this is really bad. I mean no ill will to you, and I do not wish to discourage you from making more cards, but this is a really poorly made archetype. Lumin567
I shall answer all of your points. 1. Spinner can get added from deck to hand and sets whirlwind when it does. However, mst would steamroll this before it ever had a chance to get going. 2. Yeah.... they do come across as horrifically jumbled and complex. 3. Thought I did for shnchros, but yeah that's a flaw as well. Oh whatever. I get the message this sucked. I understand. I won't try to make something this complicated next time in the quixotic pursuit of "uniqueness". I think I'll just scrap these. And don't worry. This has in no way discouraged me. This won't be my last card set.... Thanks for the review!
